Under The Same Roof

Chapter 15

   "What was that, young man?" my father asked.
   I rolled my eyes. "Dad, please just stop." Hero smiled at me.
   His eyes seemed to light on fire. "How dare you say that to me! I ha-"
   Hero put her finger over his mouth. "OK I have enough of your anger, stop being such a massive jerk!"
   He smacked her hand off her hand, and glared at her. "How dare you say that to me, little girl?! I'm more strong then you ever will be, child!"
    Hero first started to snicker, then laugh, then giggle hysterically. Allister and I both looked at her, thinking she had a nervous breakdown.
    "You don't get it do you? I'm. Not. Scared. Of. You. I really don't care how strong you are. I will get my revenge for what you did to my mother."
     For the first time in my life, my father actually looked scared. "I-I'm not afraid of you, child. Y-You and your father will not hurt my family? Yo-you barely come up to my shoulders, how can you beat me?"
     Hero just laughed. "Seriously? You're making fun of my height? Again, I don't care about you. I'm going to make sure you know how it feels like to lose someone!"
    I'm pretty sure there were actual flames in my father's eyes. "HOW DARE YOU THREATHEN MY FAMILY!" he raised his hand like he was about to slap her. I knew it was going to be World War D (for demon) if I didn't do something.
    "OK you two nee-" That was when my father slapped me. I looked at him in shock. This was the first time I remembered him hitting me. He slapped me so hard, I think he actually broke my cheekbone. I heard Hero and Allister yelling, but I couldn't hear anything over the rush of blood in my head. I looked up to see Allister pinned Hero down to the roof. I felt myself getting angry, and I...changed. I felt stronger, faster, better. I felt...unstoppable.
     Before I knew it I was pointing a purple sword that seemed to be made of energy at Allister's back.
    "Let. Her. Go."
