Chapter Eighteen

I hear the clicking of the doors opening but no alarms going off. I look around for a camera,I find one and look into it. "Who's up there?"I scream at camera. "Riddle this,Riddle me that. Many will be free,yet you do not flee. You're personality cold,attitude bold. Your friend has a temper of heat,but that's her power set complete. But what seek,is not me but to find out the truth about your family."the voice said and I just looked at the camera confused. I shook my head and Amber grabbed my hand,"Francy,we need backup."she said. I nodded and led her to the cafeteria,one of the places I expected the least people to be. I was right,it was empty,we went to side and hid behind the counter bit,I pulled my phone out of my pocket, I started dialling a number when I heard a demonic laugh. I turned to face Amber,both of our eyes wide,"He's free."we said together. "Now now now,where's my precious little Ellie?"the voice called. We stayed silent,listening. We heard two pairs of heels walking down the hall,more doors clicking open. Some one walked into the cafeteria and we held out breathes. "Ellie sweetheart are you in here? You know daddy doesn't like playing hide and seek."the voice said and cackled at the end. Amber squeezed my hand and I just look at her,mouthing 'three two one'we jumped up together and shot at him,our powers combining to make a blue fire ball. Joker dodged it,the fire ball just skimming his arm disintegrating the cloth. My phone sat on the bench,the person I had called picked up answered. "Hello."she called out.  Joker stared at us with anger in his eyes,I felt Amber shaking with with fear but I stood strong. I turned to her,letting go of her,"Run Em,get out of here. Save yourself."I whispered to her. "But he'll kill you."Amber whispered back,fear in her eyes. "Then so be it,all I want is for you to be safe."I whispered back,she nodded at me and quickly made a dash for the door. Joker ignore her and turned to Harley and Selena,"Get her."he roared. Harley and Selena stopped Amber from leaving,Selena pushed her to the ground and Harley pulled a knife out of her boot,she knelt over Amber and started cutting her arm.  "NO!"I screamed trying to get to her,only to be stopped by the Joker,wrapping his arm around me. Amber screamed out in pain as Harley sliced her arm open. I just watched in tears. "Hello."came from the phone. I turned my attention towards it,"Cat,Cat call an ambulance. Send it to Arkham,Firefox has been attacked."I yelled,I heard the beeping of the phone hanging up. By the time I looked back over at Amber she was pale with,all the blood almost gone from her body. "No,Amber."I gasped out and keep trying to get out of Jokers grasp,"Let me go!"I screamed,kicking him in the knee,he let me go and I ran over to Amber,ripping my mother off her and flinging her at the door frame. I checked Amber's pulse,it was light but still there. I went to pick her up when I was stopped by Selena. "Na ah little clown,no touch the prize."she said laughing. I turned to face her,my eyes turning black,"What did you call her?"I asked in a stern voice. Selena cowered and stepped back,"What did you call her?"I growled this,my hair started to turn black. "That's what I thought."I said,picking up Amber. "Take one more step Ellie dear and I'll shoot. Shoot you clean through the head."Joker said pointing his gun in my direction. Harley sat up and looked at me,she saw the pain in my eyes and knew what it felt like. "Ah,Puddin."she said. "What is it now Harley?"He asked her looking at her. I took the opportunity to run,I ran as fast as I could out of there and I made it to outside the asylum when the ambulance pulled up. The paramedics looked at me in shock when they saw Amber,they quickly got her out of my arms and onto the stretcher,hooking various machines up to her they closed the door and hopped back in,leaving. I gulped and walked back into the asylum. I was instantly met with every villain you could think of, I quickly turned to the door and made an ice barrier. Out of the crowd I could see Harvey,Edward and my face falls,Fletcher. I am happy to not see many of my patients,that they had some common sense not to take the chance. I used my powers to get over the angry mob that were now trying to catch me. I made it over and went back to where Jeremy,Charlie and Adam were. I gasp in horror as the three sit against the wall,written on the wall in their blood is

You made the wrong chose.
Now your friends have payed the price.

I growl and see Pam sitting in the corner,rocking back and forth. "Pam!"I scream and run over to her,"Pam are you okay?" She was unresponsive. But faintly whispering,"No,no not Amber. Stop hurting her,stop you're killing her. Somebody help us." I gasped. "Amber's in danger,at the hospital. If this is what they've done to you who knows what he could do to her." I got up quickly and ran towards the cafeteria. I run in to find,nothing. Nothing but the blood on the ground,then I remembered my phone. I walked over and found it smashed. I just shook my head and left,walking down the hall to some of the cells,finding them closed. That stupid fucking clown didn't let Harley unlock all of the doors.
