He couldn't shake the thought of the white dragon out of his head. 'Why was she so intent on getting that kill? What if she was in the same situation? Is she part of the nearby flock?' He had to know more.
He flew to the nearby cluster of dwellings where the flock lived. Several caves dotted the snowy mountainside, most of which were collapsed or coated in vines.
He had known the Alpha of this flock since he was hatched, yet didn't even know his name. He knew his cave, the biggest one. That's how it always was.
"Dargon, is that you," The large dark dragon called from the mouth of a small opening almost completely hidden by vines.
"Yes, my alpha. I have returned from living on my own for 2 years."
"You look thin," he said, almost casually.
"I am," Dargon responded. "Besides the deer I snagged recently, I haven't eaten for a few months."
"Well, since you've come back, you can go out on a hunting patrol. You're welcome to keep anything extra that you catch."Dargon bowed his head. "Thank you, my alpha. I will not dissapoint you."
"You will be hunting alongside Kori, the freak."
"As you wish, where can I find them?"
"You will know who they are when you see them."
Dargon in that moment realized exactly whom his alpha was speaking of. "As you wish."
