It was dark when they returned.
"You know, we probably would've found something had it not been for your giant feet crunching in the snow."
"Maybe if you hadn't been complaining about it the whole time, it wouldn't have been a problem," responded Dargon.
Kori scowled.
"I am really sorry about the deer."
"You're lying," she growled.
"Be that way if you want, but I'm not lying. If you want the complete and honest truth, I think we could've been friends."
"Stop toying with my emotions Dargon. I'm so sick of everyone messing with me."

"You two look like you're having fun," said the alpha, sarcastically. "Catch anything?"
"Prey was very scarce, my alpha. We were unable to find anything," said Dargon, bowing his head.
"No matter. It seems you'll just be hunting again tomorrow."
'I have to hunt with this bat tomorrow as well,' Dargon thought to himself. 'Wonderful.' "As you wish."
"Kori, go get your rest."
"Whatever you say."
The alpha shot her a dangerous look. "Dargon, I'll show you to your cave."

They flew to a ridge higher up on the cliff. There, an opening went into a small and narrow den.
"There you go. Get some rest."
"Thank you."
The alpha nodded and flew to his own den.

Dargon curled up in his den. 'First day was just as eventful as the day I left.'
It was pitch-black inside. The stone was the same granite of the cave he had been living in for the past two years. It didn't take him long to enter a light sleep.

He was awakened by the clicking of claws on stone.
"Dargon, wake up."
He didn't feel very well rested.
"Get up, you lazy oaf," she said in a harsh yet hushed tone.
He got up, stretching his wings, and walked out. Judging by the position of the stars, it was not even close to sunrise. "Why did you get me up this early?"
"If you're going to be that way about it, then I'll just go back to sleep."
"No, it's fine. Go ahead and do or say what you wanted."
Kori took a gulp before talking. "I... I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for my behavior. I was really mad at you."
He sat down next to her.
"I don't often swallow my pride, but I think I'm willing to make an exception for you. If what you said is true, and you really were starving, then I'm glad that you got the deer."
She let out a long sigh.
"Now that we've got all that touchy-feely shit out of the way, the real reason I came here; We have some hunting to do."
