PROLOGUE

My eyes flickered around the room, taking in the departed body parts of the children around me. Grandpa let out a annoyed sigh,

"I told you to not play with the other kids, Pane My dear."

I fixed my gaze onto the head of the boy who flared my temper, I kneeled down, wanting to stroke his hair out of his eyes,

"He started it Grandpa! He grabbed my hand!"

Grandpa looked down at me with an amused smile,

"Even if he started it Pane, you left me with quite a mess to pick up."

I stood up and kicked the head to side, pouting. He chuckled and drew his handkerchief from his breast pocket, trying to wipe the kid's blood off my face.

"Let's go home, Pane"

"I'll have my men clean this up."

Grandpa walked ahead of me, shoes making tracks in the puddles of blood. I giggled, placing my small feet inside his large tracks.

My hand started to tingle slightly. I watched as the exotic vine of black thorns, disappeared from my hand, once again.

I told him not to touch me.
