Chapter 19

(Aidan's POV)

The alarm blared through the castle walls as the men desperately tried to lead the women and children to safety. It is cruel to attack the home of thousands of innocent people that don't know how to defend themselves. We also have a large population of humans that are mates of werewolves that reside in these castle walls. Not being able to shift and fight back, makes them targets for being turned into a vampire or most likely killed. If a vampire managed to kill one of these human mates, it would drive the werewolf to the brink of insanity and he may attack his own kind out of grief and a broken heart. It also didn't help that the vampires carried individual gifts that are sure to over power more than one wolf.

Smoke wondered through the halls and I didn't know if it was a fire or a vampire that was causing it to happen. Because at this point, I wouldn't be surprised...

Dad franticly called out orders to out pack warriors, trying our best to evacuate the people who were fragile and couldn't fight for theirselves. A heavy weight laid on my shoulders as I thought of Pane, the mate who has forgotten me. If she could remember everything again, would we still be at war?

Dad walked over to me and sighed in grief and desperation,

"You have to help us son, what is a weak spot for the Dark princess?"

My eyes hardened as my wolf rebelled against the thought if harming our mate. The answer was at the tip of my tongue and my dad must of noticed my inner debate and quickly added,

"We aren't trying to kill her, just stop her war against us."

Without warning, I blurted it out,

"Fang."

Nodding in confirmation, my Dad started shouting out new orders and sending out the warriors after the most precious person to my mate. My gut twisted in uncertainty, because somehow I knew that if Fang was hurt. A war would be the least of our problems, but before I could relay the warning I was mind linked.

"Fang has been exterminated."

Before a gut wrenching and anguished cry, rang through the walls. Followed by a yell of hatred and revenge soon came after.

Pane.
