Chapter 11

(Pane's POV)

I feel weird.

Almost as if something was missing.

The maids were acting suspicious today, including Will. They were hiding something, that much I knew. Stepping around me like I'm an explosive bomb, hasn't changed but they were more eager than usual to get away from me. My room is still cold and disconnected but there is a chair beside my bed.

When did I allow the maids to move my chair?

Rolling my eyes in annoyance, I got off my bed and rotated my aching shoulders.

Someone's getting fired today.

Slipping on my gloves that I must have takin off the day before, I forced the gigantic doors of my bedroom open. William immediately rushed to my side, almost as if he was waiting for me. Standing slightly behind me, he cleared his throat,

"Good afternoon your majesty, how are you feeling?"

I raised an eyebrow at him, almost mockingly,

"Excuse me if I'm incorrect but, did your just say afternoon?"

His face flashed with regret and he wringed his hands behind his back as if he had just told a secret,

"I did say afternoon, madam" he stated tightly.

Growing irritated I turned towards him,

"Drop the act William, and tell me what you and everyone else is hiding from me."

His shoulders slumped in resignation and he gave me a resigned look,

"Your Majesty-"

Before He could finish, the sound of footsteps echoed around the hallways.

"PAYNE, IS THAT YOU? ARE YOU ALRIGHT?!"

A voice shouted. I turned my head, only to be faced with the most attractive man on earth. I stared into his deep, endless eyes, before shaking out of it. Even though he wore a concerned face, I grew angry.

He was trespassing.

Wandering around my castle.

Calling me by my name.

And he is a complete stranger.

I glared coldly and motioned for him to continue. He frowned before a unknown expression crossed his face,

"Please excuse my manners, my name is Aidan, and I am the prince of wolfs."
