Chapter 21

(Pane's POV)

"Stop this mate. You are only killing our people!"

A burst of hysteria, escaped my mouth as I laughed so hard that my eyes even watered. The concern on his face, soon turned weary as I shot him a chilling smirk. My tattoos burned even brighter as they covered up more of my skin. The dark shadows in front of Aidan, soon began to circle around him. As far as I'm concerned, this is a war and his kind, killed my best friend.

"Is it amusing to you Aidan? To watch me suffer as they ripped apart my only reason for existence?"

Before he could answer, I choked out a heartless chuckle,

"Did you think that was going to stop me? Fang was your only chance of getting me to stop this war and you ruined it."

The panic in his eyes, finally set in as he desperately tried to figure out a solution.

If only he hadn't killed him.

The shadows started to grow as they fed off my anger, slowly circling closer onto their pray. I wasn't going to just kill him, I wanted to torture him mentally and physically first. His eyes kept flashing back and forth, battling to keep control over his wolf. Knowing he wouldn't dare to hurt me, despite the shadows slowly getting closer to him. Finally, his wolf took full control and stared at me with pained eyes. The power of the Prince of wolves was released, and my grin widened.

I knew exactly what he was about to do when he let out a pained howl and shifted. Whisking my shadows away, I watched as he charged towards me, without knowing that I had made my shadows leave on purpose.

When his large canines were right in front of my shoulder, I let out a chuckle.

Even when he was attached me, he decided to not aim for any vital organs.

Right before he could bite into my shoulder, I let them loose.

The shadows wasted no time, protecting me and stabbing through his stomach. A pained yelp, filled the air as he shifted back into his human form. Still standing right in front of me with the shadows stabbed through his stomach. Blood dripped down from his mouth and his eyes shown with love and forgiveness,

"It's ok. I forgive you and....I love you, mate."

Before I could reply, the shadows went into feeding mode and began to feast upon him, right before my eyes. Time seemed frozen as I basically watched my powers devour him. I tried to fight back and gained control but they were already too strong and managed to rein me in. Tears dripped from my eyes as the haze that was over my mind, cleared.

Blinded by revenge, I killed him.

The one man that was guaranteed to always be there for me.

I murdered him.

But the worst part was,

"I never got to say, I love you".
