Bing! My phone rang. I didn't text anybody? I looked at it and it was my mom. She texted 'Hi Sweetie, hope everything is going well, and your having a good time.' I texted back 'Yeah it's gong great, I went to the beach and I'm going out on Saturday.' She replied ' That's great honey! Glad it's going good!' I set my phone down and fell asleep to the thought of how Friday night would go.
I woke up that morning feeling refreshed. I took a shower and headed down stairs for breakfast. I couldn't find grandpa or grandma so I looked on the fridge for a note, of course, I found one. It read: 'Grandpa went to golf with friends and I'm at brunch with friends from church! Be back by lunch. Love you! -Grandma.' Ok then I thought, house to myself for awhile. I grabbed a movie, pride and prejudice, and made cereal. I sat on the couch for awhile all snugged up in my pjs and a blanket. I thought about texting him. Maybe I should? Why not? So I grabbed my phone and typed his number and typed 'Hi it's Riley' and set it down. A moment later. Bing! It was a text from him. 'Hey it's Justin' he replied. 'What's up' I texted back. 'Nothing much. What about you?' ' Just a movie in my pjs.' not knowing why I added pjs in there. 'Cool, what movie?' 'It's my favorite but no laughing ok?' 'Ok what is it' 'It's pride and prejudice' 'Haha, that's a great movie' 'See, I knew you'd laugh at me!' 'I think it's cute that's all' I blushed Yea when I read that. 'So you want to hang out later, let's say a baseball game?' He added. 'Why a baseball game?' I asked. 'Well my little brother is playing and I thought you might liked to come.' I thought about it and it sounded pretty fun. 'Sure, sounds like fun! What time?' 'It starts at 1pm but I'll pick you up if that's ok?' 'Yeah sure!' 'Ok cool, see you then' 'Yeah, see you!' I couldn't believe I just did that. I actually had a normal conversation with a really hot guy without dieing. I mean I know it's in texted but wow. I set my phone down and finished my movie. I went in the kitchen to call grandma and tell her about me leaving. "Hi grandma, it's Riley. So Justin, the guy who hit me with the volleyball, invited me to his little brothers game around 1pm. Is it ok if I go?" I told her. "Sure sweetie! Have fun!" She replied. "Ok, thanks grandma!" I said hanging up. I ran up stairs putting on a Yankees baseball t-shirt from home and put on jeans. I put my converse on and my hair in a pony. I grabbed a baseball cap and my phone. I was tying my shoes when...Honk! Honk! He was here. I finished tying and headed down the stairs. I ran out the door and got into his jeep. It was colored black and the top was off because it was summer. He had 97.5 on the radio and we jammed to music the whole way there. We got there and we found seats next his parents. "Mom, Dad, this is Riley." He introduced me. "Oh is this the girl you talk about all the time?" His mom replied. "Mom?!" He said giving her a 'really' look. "Or the girl you got in the head?" His dad included. "Yes dad." He replied, regretting he brought me here. "I'm so sorry." He whispered. "It's ok." I said giggling. He looked at me as if he was confused on why I'm laughing. "Why are you laughing?" He asked smiling at me. "You should really meet my mom. She's just like that but worse." I said still chuckling. He started laughing. "What about your dad?" He said. "Um I don't like to talk about it." I said sounding upset. "Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't know." He said feeling guilty. "It's ok." I said.
We yelled and made up silly cheers during the game. We had a great time. His little brother ended up winning 5 to 2. After the game we went to go find him on the field. "Josh, this is my friend Riley." Justin said picking him up. "Hi Josh." I said, hoping he'd like me. "Hi." He said looking pretty shy. Justin went to go pull the car up and tell his parents that he'd take Josh home. "So nice game huh Josh." I said trying to make conversation. "Yeah, I hit that ball so hard it went flying passed 2nd!" He said so excitingly. "I know, your a natural!" I said. "I like you, you wanna be friends with me?" He asked. "Of course I do." I replied. "So how old are you Josh?" I added. "I'm 5!" He said holding 5 fingers up. "Wow! 5? Your so big!" I said. "Yeah!" He replied. "Hey I have an idea." I said picking him up. "What's that?" He asked. "Well since you won I think some one deserves Ice Cream!" I said. "Yeah!!" He yelled. "Let's go ask Justin." I said turning around to head to the car. "Ask me what?" Justin said. I didn't realize he was standing behind me. "Um if we can get ice cream? Please Justin!" He begged. "Please Justin!" I added in on the begging. "Sure." He said.
We all got in the car and drive to get ice cream. After ice cream, Justin dropped me back off. "Thanks for inviting me. I had a great time!" I said. "No problem. Glad you had fun, so did I." He said smiling. "Bye Riley!" Josh yelled from the backseat with his face stuffed with ice cream. "Bye Josh!" I said closing the door and waving as I walked up the drive way, Justin rolled down the window and yelled "I'll call you!" "Ok!" I yelled back smiling. I walked in and grandma and grandpa were watching tv in the living room. "I'm home!" I yelled. I walked into the living room. "Hi darling! Have a good time?" Grandma asked. "Yeah it was great! I met his parents and his little brother. They won 5 to 2 and we got ice cream afterwards." I said. "Sounds great!" She said. "I'm gonna take a nap because I'm exhausted." I said heading up the stairs to my room. "Ok honey, I'll call you for dinner." She replied. I took my jeans off and put sweatpants on. I put my hair in a messy bun and changed my shirt to an old school soccer one. I hopped in my covers and immediately fell asleep.
