I woke up the next morning to the smell of bacon and eggs. I looked at the clock next me me that said 9am. I got out of bed and got dressed. I went down stairs and headed to the kitchen. Grandma was cooking bacon on the stove with eggs on already cooked on the plates. Once grandma put the bacon on the plates I took them to the table. I called grandpa from the cave who was reading the newspaper but I hadn't seen mom. "Where's mom?" I asked grandma. "I don't know, I haven't seen her this morning." She answered.  I looked out the window to see her car was still parked in the driveway. "Mom?!" I started calling louder, getting worried. I headed up the stairs and down the hall to her room. I knocked on the door and opened it a crack. "Mom?" I whispered. There she was snoring like a hog. I got closer. "Mom?" I said very soft. "Ah!!" She screamed, grabbing a pillow and hitting me with it. "Mom! It's me! Mom! Stop!" I yelled.  She suddenly stopped and opened her eyes and looked at me. "Oh, you scared me half to death." She said. "I scared you?! Tell that to my pants I think I just wet! You scared me! Why were you screaming? It was a whisper hog!" I yelled at her. "Hey I gave birth to you." She said with confidence. "Mom you can't use that for an accuse for everything." I said giving her a 'really' look. "It's worked so far." She said, boasting. "Well it won't anymore." I said, rolling my eyes. "Breakfast is ready, grandpa and grandma are waiting." I said starting to walk back down the hall towards the stairs. "Ok." She answered. Mom finally came down stairs and we ate breakfast. After breakfast, mom went up stairs to pack, grandpa was still reading that newspaper and grandma and I were doing dishes.

Later that afternoon mom was ready to leave. She came down the stairs with her bags. I helped her bring them to the car and set them in the trunk. I really wanted to jump in when she wasn't looking so she'd take me with her instead of leaving me here. Once everything was packed up we said our goodbyes. Grandma first then grandpa and finally me. "Please don't leave mom." I said in sadness, whispering in her ear when I hugged her. "I'm sorry sweetie, I gotta." She whispered back. I thought to myself, no you don't! Stay! Don't leave me here by myself! I wanted to hook on to her leg like I use to do when I was little when I didn't want her to leave me somewhere. Mom got in the car and started it. She backed out of the driveway, waving and turned the wheels so they straightened. She drove away around the corner. I swear I could've seen her laughing or smiling in the mirror as she drove away, further.  Oh my gosh, she actually left me here. Was she crazy?

"Maybe later you could walk to the beach?" Grandma suggested. "Sure." I said in a bummed voice. I decided to take grandmas offer and head to the beach. I put my bikini on and grabbed my towel. I put my phone, sunscreen, and sunglasses in my bag. I told grandma I'd be at the beach and then headed out the door. I really hope there's some cute guys there. It would make my day a whole lot better if I got some guys numbers. I walked for about a mile and reached the beach. I picked a spot close to the water and set my stuff down. I laid my towel out on the sand and rubbed sunscreen on me. I looked around for any cute guys and there were some. More were out on the waves, surfing or jet skiing. I laid down on my back and put earbuds in. Just relax I told myself. Enjoy this summer.
