"Ayako, let's leave, now!" Leuis demanded.
I stared at them in shock. True panic settled in, and I was left unable to speak. My group of friends, Rodger, Eryk, and Odette were here, all armed with their arena weapons. Leuis was here as well on Rodger's cap.
Didn't Agent 1 and 2 warn them about not following me? How did my friends manage to find me?
"Are these... your comrades?" Akashi-yaki asked me, rising from her chair.
"No-- um, yes." I stuttered, rising as well. "But they mean no harm."
"They have harmed some of my scientists."
"Octoling!" Leuis cried out when he spotted Akashi-yaki. "Rodger, ready your charger!"
Rodger didn't understand Leuis, but he had his Splatterscope up and aiming at the commander. He had his finger ready on the trigger.
"Rodger, stop it!" I cried out, but it was already too late.
A sudden crack from the charger echoed throughout the room and ink went flying at breakneck speed. And a splat noise indicated a hit.
I turned around, expecting Akashi-yaki to be harmed, but instead, it was Porphyra who took the hit to defend her commander. All covered in the ink Rodger had shot, and she had gone limp.
"What have you done?!" I cried out.
"They are Octarians!" Eryk yelled. "They are the enemy! Do not let them brainwash you with their petty stories!"
"Stand down." Akashi-yaki ordered, checking Porphyra's wounds. "We mean no violence at the moment. If you just allow me to explain--"
"There is no explanation needed!" Rodger threatened Akashi-yaki again with his Splatterscope. "Now give Ayako back to us and back off!"
"ENOUGH!" Boomed a voice from the hallway that my friends had entered.
My group backed away as a squad of Octolings marched in, who was lead by another tall figure. The way he dressed made him look like he had complete authority over them - socks and sandals, a traditional robe, and a golden headpiece. He had his arms crossed and a sinister-looking glare under the shadow of his headpiece.
He glanced at all of us in disgust. "What are the enemies doing here? Throw them back into the sewers."
"C-cousin Octavio." Akashi-yaki cleared her throat. "Only one of the Inklings here brought here. We didn't expect these other--"
"Bah!" Octavio spat. "For what? We don't need information from them. What intelligence do they have?..."
So this was Octavio, the true leader of the Octarians, which my history classes had taught me. Once was a kind soul, but now he talked like a tyrant.
"... And why must you delay your plans for your attack that you always had in mind?" Octavio questioned hoarsely. "Go and put your plans in motion! We shouldn't have to wait anymore!"
"No, I... I changed my mind." Akashi-yaki stuttered. "We only need the electricity. There is no need for this."
Another voice, sounding croaky as it had belonged to another elder, spoke in the darkness. He struggled his way out of the grip of a duo of Octolings to make himself appear to us.
It was Captain Cuttlefish, bound with handcuffs to prevent him from an easy escape.
"A flood!" The captain cried out, fighting against the Octoling guards with his own strength. "They're planning a flood in the city of cherry blossoms!"
"SHUT HIM UP!" Octavio demanded, and down went Captain Cuttlefish, with a strike to the head by a handle of an Octoling's gun. "Now, all of you! Take out the witnesses! We must not have any squid know about this!"
No one moved.
"Do not linger around! Do as I say!"
"General." Akashi-yaki spoke in a polite yet firm tone. "These are my troops as well. Let us just talk things through."
Octavio shot a glare at Akashi-yaki. It seemed like he had seen her as just another army unit, rather than a family member. He muttered in a low growl. "Are you the one in complete authority over all troops? Are you the head of this army?"
"N-no, sir."
"The Inkling race doesn't matter. The Octarians, our civilization, is on the verge of collapse." Octavio raised his voice again. "And if you cannot take orders from your general, then I'll have to make you listen to me myself!"
Octavio stamped his foot onto the ground. Right after, a low and dark beat began to play in the room. The music was also followed by Octarian lyrics.
It seemed to have an affect on the Octolings. Perhaps they had much more sensitive ears than ours because they began receiving pain to the head.
"Please... we can do this on our own!" Akashi-yaki pleaded while trying her best to cover her ears.
"Silence! I had enough delays!" Octavio pointed a finger towards me and my friends. "Kill them off, minions! Leave no survivors!"
In an instant the Octarian troops lifted their heads up and fixed their composure. They aimed their guns at us in unison.
It made them seem lifeless, with Octavio pulling at their strings like a true tyrannical puppeteer.
I looked up at Akashi-yaki, whose exposed eye had changed from emerald pupils against white, to violet against bright green. The eye was struggling to focus, as if it was a window to her soul which tried to escape being used. With the last urge of her independent will, she mouthed the word.
Run.

Author's Notes (Will move to first chapter soon)
◾ Yes, Octavio uses mind control on the Octarian troops with music. It even says in the Wiki/Inkapedia.
◾ In my book, Octavio will be known as a general and can use his human form. Plus, I gave him the EU version of how he talks, rather than the NA version everyone seems to like. With this, it just makes more sense to me.
◾ I should've added a trigger warning for anyone who is obsessed with army. I really don't know the true ranks of the military
Welp, hope you enjoyed. Be sure to leave a vote if you liked this chapter. And if you want to share my story, go for it, I'd appreciate it very much.
And with that, I'll see you all later.
