We spend the next couple hours catching up, recalling old times and telling new stories. We sipped at some wine and got a little tipsy. At about 2 a.m. we set up Theo’s travel crib and quietly placed the sleeping infant in it. After changing the beddings and sheets, Greg passed out in Gabby’s room while Niall slept on the couch. I lied in bed watching the snow fall outside. Moonlight was pooling in through the window. I could hear a neighbor playing slow, Christmas songs next door. “White Christmas” hummed through the thin walls. Slowly but surely I fell asleep.

“Wake up, little sister! Breakfast is ready!” Niall screamed me awake, jumping onto my bed. I bolted upright and almost fell off the side of the bed.
“Oh my God, Niall. What the hell? Who made food?” I groggily rubbed my eyes and threw a pillow at Niall. He chuckled and sat cross–legged in front of me. I could smell sausage and pancake batter, so is sprang out of bed and ran into the kitchen. Greg was using a spatula to put the pancakes onto a plate.
“Are we on the food network?” I asked, sneaking a swipe of the strawberries and cream.
“It’s Christmas in like 4 days, we need to eat properly. All you have in your fridge is a jar of Mayonnaise, 1 package of tortillas, and a box of poptarts. You do know those don’t even go in the fridge right?” He laughed. I just glared at him. All of what we had for breakfast was: bacon, sausage, pancakes, strawberries a cream, English muffins and juice. It was like dining with Bobby Flay. I had no idea Greg could cook. Then again it’s been 4 years since I’ve seen him.
“Hey Niall how are you and Gabby? She didn’t talk about you much when she came back.” I dipped a strawberry into the fluffy whipped cream and popped it into my mouth. He just shrugged and continued eating his sausage. Did they breakup?
“Niall you can tell us mate, were your siblings.” Greg patted his shoulder with one hand whilst feeding Theo with the other.
“She dumped me, Okay? She felt like I had too many issues with mum and dad dyin’ all-“
“WHAT?” I yelled. She dumped him, because his parents died and he still wasn’t coping? She dumped him because he was traumatized? She dumped him because he was depressed. Was he depressed?
He just nodded and took his plate to the sink. I was furious. No one treats my brother like that, even if he wasn’t there for me a lot. I pulled out my phone and scrolled through my contacts until I found Gabby’s number and pressed call. I walked into my room and shut the door.
“Hello?” Her voice flowed through the receiver.
“What the hell? You broke up with Niall?” I tried to keep my voice down so my brothers wouldn’t hear.
“uh yeah. I meant to tell you but-“
“But what? But you didn’t want me to get mad? Gabby, you dumped him because he was sad. You couldn’t handle that? You sure handled it when I was going through it. What the fuck is your problem? Do you have no feelings, no sympathy for him? He had to find out through his little sister, whom he forgot about! Two slaps in one! I just can’t believe you! D-Don’t even think about coming back after the holidays!” I had screamed that last part, hoping Niall would hear it. I heard it go silent after I hung up, so I decided to get in the shower and get ready for the day.

Niall was dressed as well when I walked out of my bedroom. Greg was wearing a nice, tan, cardigan sweater with black jeans.
“So what’s going on?” I asked them, while they just stared. I tried to act like nothing was wrong, that everything was chill.
“Nothing” Niall said, smiling, showing his dimples, which appeared out of the blue really. I had never seen them before.
