As the door opened, I recognized the Sky Army boy from the science lab. He looked alot different than he did before though... I could just barely make out the resemblance.
Now he had pale blue skin like mine, and dark blue hair, also like mine, except alot shorter of course.
The scientist squid was holding a strange gun of some type. I have no idea what it is. I'm useless when it comes to gadgets and whatnot.
I shot the scientist a confused look, then glanced back at the boy. Why were they here in my room?
The squid scientist cleared his throat. "Kaila, this is your new roommate Johnathan. John, this is Kaila."
"Uh... Hi?" I said uncertainly, remembering back to when Darien had told me that I would be getting a roommate.
"Hi," he said, a little hesitantly.
"Ill leave you two to get to know eachother a bit," said the scientist, walking back out the door. I was left alone in the room with this random Sky Army dude I don't even know...
Awkward. I wondered if I should say something. But what? "Uh... So, you're my new roommate?" I finally said. Ugh, well that was lame.
"I guess," he said, looking down at his feet. There was complete silence for a few seconds. Then slowly he asked, obviously trying to start a conversation, "got any hobbies?"
Ha, at least I'm not the only one who sucks at coming up with things to say. I thought about his question for a few seconds, then answered. "Yeah. I like to sing and dance. Apparently I'm famous for it. Kaila Squills, famous rock star, or something like that. What about you?"
"I like to invent stuff. Machinery and technology fascinates me. Apparently I'm famous of it too..."
"Cool," I replied, noting the fact that we both used the word "apparently".
"So, where am I supposed to sleep?" He asked, eyeing the two beds. "I'm assuming the one you're sitting on is yours?"
I nodded. "Yeah. Sorry for the mess by the way..." I went over to the table in the corner and cleared off all the crumpled up sheets of paper. "I'm pretty sure this table is for you, for inventing and whatnot. I was just using it to write a song, but you can have it now." I tossed the papers into the garbage, keeping the one good piece and stuffing it into the drawer in my bedside table.
"Thanks," he said. "Mind if I take a look at your song?"
"Oh, you don't want to see it. It sucks. It's not even a real song, it's a parody of one someone else wrote."
"So?"
"So you really don't need to see it." I grinned. "Really. You don't wanna."
He laughed a little. He seems nice enough. I think we'll get along fine. Not to mention the fact that he's kind of cute...
I shook myself out of my trance and glanced at the clock. I gasped when I realized it was 6:00.
"Crap, I'm gonna be late for karaoke night!" I thought aloud.
"Karaoke night?" Asked John, who seemed kind of confused.
"Yeah, I gotta go. See you later!" I said then rushed out the door and down the hallway towards the auditorium.
(Hey guys, Misty here. Sorry for the short and kinda boring chapter, but there will be another either later tonight or tomorrow morning.
