*A week later*
Im still playing video games. Duh. They take your mind off of stuff that bothers you, and it has really helped me this week.
I was playing GTA V, so I was going on a killing rampage with my machine gun. Phil was probably in his bedroom doing Phil stuff, which is usually anime or tumblr or something.
It was a typical and calm Sunday afternoon, with the screams of the digital people inside the TV booming all over the house. In all this noise, I didn't notice Phil's bedroom door opening. As I turned my head away from the TV for a few minutes, I saw Phil looming over me beside the couch, and I literally jumped a few feet in the air and screamed, "JESUS, PHIL WHAT THE FUCK YOU SCARED ME!"
I tilted my head up to see his face, and he was scowling. "Not my fault that you forget about reality, Dan," he said, in defence.
"Fair enough," I replied with a shrug, and I went back to gaming. I could hear Phil sigh a disappointing sigh beside me. "What happened?" I asked.
"Don't you remember? Today's the day!"
I turned my head again to face him, confused.
"Really? How could you forget that?" he said in a disappointing voice. I'm used to disappointing voices, since I AM a disappointment. But right now, I was scared. What did I forget?
"I expected you to remind me first, but it looks like I'm wrong. Those video games have turned your brain to mush," Phil said.
I replied, "stop talking as if you don't play video games, Phil. And I'm surprised you didn't know that my brain was already mush. So it doesn't make a difference. Just stop with riddles already, and tell me what I'm clearly forgetting.""The wedding, Dan! The wedding!
I just looked at him in utter confusion. He sighed. "We need to film the wedding today. I've already picked out our suits. They're in my room. Come in if you want to see them." And with that, Phil went back into his room.
I sat on the couch for a good ten minutes, trying to figure out what in fucking hell is going on. I'm forgetting something. I know I'm forgetting something. There's a voice behind my brain that's nagging me, screaming in a tiny and annoying voice, "the wedding! The wedding!" It's saying exactly what Phil said.
But who's wedding? A thought came to my mind; what if Phil and I are married for the past year and I forgot about it, cos my brain is mush? That thought was so ridiculous I almost laughed.
I couldn't live this curiosity anymore. I got up and went to Phil's room. He must've heard me coming, cos he was standing beside his bed with two black suits on it. But it wasn't the suits I was looking at; it was Phil. He was smiling wide, and he looked so happy and beautiful that I didn't have the heart to ruin it by asking "what wedding", so I just smiled back. His smile grew wider, just like my happiness. "How do they look?" he asked. He seemed to be pretty proud of it, and tbh, the suits were actually amazing. "I never took you for a classy person," I joked.
"Hey!"
There was only a teensy, insignificant problem; I still don't know what the fuck is going on.
"So," I started, "when are we filming this...video?"
"Umm...Right now? Duh," he replied.
"Of course...duh. I'm so stupid."
"Mush", was all he said in reply.I took my suit and went into my room. What do I do now? I guess I had no choice but to play along. I put on my suit, and then I realized that there was no tie. I quickly rummaged through my closet and found an old leather tie, which I still have for some alien reason. I just put it on and went back to Phil.
"Hey, open your laptop, will you? It's gonna take a while to load. Meanwhile, I'll set up the camera and stuff. Bring the laptop whenever you're ready," said Phil.
"Uhmm....okay. Just one, tiny question," I said, "where are we filming?"
Phil just smiled. "Stop joking, Dan, and come up to the gaming room."When he said "gaming room", it struck me. How could I be so fucking stupid? It was obvious! We planned to do it on Sunday! And now I just wanted to drop to the floor and laugh my fucking ass off.
Today's Dil and Tabitha's wedding.
