Anthony rolled over in bed, staring up at his ceiling.

The party was in less than a week. That meant Halloween was in less than a week, three days to be exact,  and Anthony had a minor problem.

He destroyed half of his costume.  It hadn't quite been his fault- well, technically it was, but Anthony liked to believe he was innocent. Galm, Smarty and Aphex had come over to play Gang Beasts, when Anthony had decided it would be funny to pick on Aphex.

He hadn't done much, just jumped out from a closet to scare the poor guy. But, because Anthony had shitty luck, he swung the door too hard and not only broke a lamp nearby, but the door itself. Since Aphex had been bringing Smarty a drink...

Soda was everywhere. Mom wasn't happy, to say the least.

Chilled wasn't either, but that was probably obvious by now. Buying another was always an option, but Anthony was still upset over the first one.

Especially when Minx decides to bring it up.

"Well, why did you think that would be a good idea? I'd like to think you know your own strength by now. " Minx scoffed quietly from her spot at his desk.

"I don't know! I just thought it would be funny, and so I swung the door open super fast so he wouldn't see it coming, and... and then the door broke off it's hinges and smashed the lamp we had in the corner. His reaction was amazing, though. I wish I had taken pictures. "

He heard Minx sigh.

"I know I'm stupid. Thanks for pointing that out."

"Whatever, we still love you anyways, regardless of your bad ideas."

Anthony chuckled. "Ohm was right. You are a horrible big sister."

"I like to think I'm better than most. I mean, I've kept my sanity despite all of these things you guys put me through." Despite the sarcasm, Anthony can feel her happiness and the thought of it makes him smile and sit up.

"So what did you break into my house for?"

Minx rolls her eyes, swinging a set of keys around her finger. "It's not breaking and entering if you have a key. And I'm here because I need help getting food for the party. Just come with me to the store and we'll work it out from there."

"Why can't you get Max or Adam to do it? Don't you have a girlfriend who can go with you?" Anthony, deciding he had nothing better to do, got up and went to get his shoes.

"I got Ohm and Krism to come along. Or, rather, the three of us still need to go get Ohm. He tried to back out on us. We're gonna need the extra set of hands."

.

"What the fuck?! Minx, put me down!"

Never before had Bryce assumed that anyone could just lift Ohm up like he was a doll, and carry him to a car with such ease.

Especially considering how much Ohm hates physical contact. He was kicking and pounding his fists on her back, claiming that "I said I changed my mind!"

Minx had responded with a stern  "And I said there was no backing out!"

Bryce just laughed at the sight, watching everything go down.

"Buddy?! Help me!" Ohm screams to his dog, Buddy, and then Bryce is laying on the floor crying from laughter.

They get into the car, and quickly drive away, leaving Bryce alone in a house that isn't his.

Awesome.

.

"Should we get regular potato chips or something else? I reckon we'll need a lot of chips."

"I don't know. Hey Minx, How do you feel about tootsie rolls? You know, those weird little chocolate-kinda things?"

"Ew. God no. Ohm, put that back. Those are disgusting."

"You're disgusting, Krism."

"Hey, hey, don't talk to Minx's girlfriend like that." Anthony was standing still, watching his friends go back and forth over what snacks to get for the party.

He now knew why Minx needed so much help.  Minx was catering to all the oddballs in town, it seemed.

Krism complained about the addition of grape soda, Anthony begged for Minx to have some form of sour candy at the party, they all argued over kinds of chips and Ohm kept trying to sneak those fucking Tootsie Rolls into the cart.

It was a mess. A nice, organized mess that Anthony was honored to be a part of.

"Is two bags of candy too many? I'm talking those big bags, the mixed ones." Minx eyed the selection of candy cautiously.

"We should get glow sticks. Everyone loves those." Ohm was holding up a small package, grinning excitedly.

Krism shook her head and took the pack out of his hand. "It's not worth it. Those packs are too tiny. We can probably stop somewhere else and get something bigger than a pack of five." She then returned it to the rack.

"Yeah, I think they'll be enough. They're pretty big, I mean." Anthony answered Minx, for it seemed the other two were too busy bickering to answer themselves.

"Alright, then. Krism, baby, stop picking on Ryan. He did nothing wrong."

Krism pouted, but did as Minx asked regardless.  She took hold of the cart, then let Minx lead them all to the front of the store.

Twenty minutes later, they're sitting in Minx's house munching on sandwiches as they sort out the food they bought. But instead of Ohm being here, they had Bryce instead.

Ohm, for whatever reason, had asked to be taken home. It was a simple request, so Minx had dropped by. They ended up finding Bryce still there, playing with Ohm's dog.

So now Bryce was here, giggling as he spoke with Krism about... something.

"And that makes three bags of chips, the two bags of candy and...."

"That motherfucker. He hid the stupid tootsie rolls in the cart!" Minx hisses to herself, glaring at the brown bag of candy lying on the floor.

Bryce made a face. "Did he really? Who even eats those? Ohm has weird taste in foods."

Minx sighed. "It explains why we paid more than I thought we would. I hope he knows he owes me five dollars for that."

Krism rolled her eyes, then stood up and wrapped her arms around Minx. "It's okay. We'll get him back."

Bryce smiles,  this dark, excited smile and an alarm goes off in Anthony's head because Bryce never smiles like that.

What kind of party was this going to be?
