We walk up the hospital and stop at the door. The nurse opens it and gestures for us to come in. Caden's family wakes up and starts swarming him and telling him how much they love him, asking him if he is okay, and asking other types of questions.
I look over at Caden, who isn't facing towards me. His arm is covered in a bandage and I imagine it was stitched up. His hair looks cleaner than it did before, but it was still covering his face.
"What should we do?" Asked Hunter.
I shrugged. "Let's just wait I guess."
"Okay." He said back and I felt something touch my hand. I looked down and laced my hands with his warm and comforting hand.
Caden continued talking with his family as my Mom, Hunter, and I waited in the back. After another ten minutes he finally noticed us. He faced us and I nearly gasped when I saw his face. I can't believe I hadn't figured it out sooner. Caden...
"Cora?"
Pure dread filled me as I stood in the same place frozen. I couldn't look at his face again, not after what happened.
