The next day during study hall we went to the hidden hall. What can I saw I made Hunter a promise. Today he was showing me another room.
"This I think used to be the library." Hunter said and fumbled around for the light switch. When he found it the light was somewhat dim. Now I could see the room. It did look like a library. There were shelves. Not all of them were full of books, but a considerable amount were. There was what looked like a checking out station in one corner. There were tables in between everything. Where you might eat your lunch or something. I walked over to a sign and dusted it off. It had an owl that said: Whoooo would like to check out a book.
"This is almost better than the other room." Confession time. I loved to read. It was the best thing to do in your spare time.
"Good to know."
"Why's that."
"You're my girlfriend now. I mean I need to know if you like secret hidden libraries." He said laughing at his own joke.
I rolled my eyes. "So have you figured out what we're dressing as for Halloween?"
"Sadly no. But I have some ideas. Maybe a queen and king, or something like that."
"I don't think it matters too much. We don't necessarily need to dress up at all."
"What?"
"We could do something else. Like you wear a black suit and orange tie. I can wear a black and orange dress or something like that."
He considered it for a minute. "Well it's not a bad idea. I guess we could do that. Black and orange then?"
"Yep."
"Okay I have a bit of confession to make." Hunter said. "I can't really dance. Well I haven't really tried but yeah."
"I have a confession too. I'm the exact same way."
"Really?" He said, his violet eyes sparkling.
"Yeah. Maybe we can try to teach each other."
He laughed. "Okay but if I'm teaching you, prepare to be embarrassed if you want to dance."
"Okay I know one. The box step."
"Okay teach me."
"Okay so I put my hands on your shoulders and you put yours on my waist. Now just follow my lead."
We danced in the shape of a box. Which makes sense because that is what the dance is called. During it he twirled me around.
"And you said you couldn't dance. That was a grade A twirl."
"Do you want me to do it again."
"Sure."
He spun me around, a bit faster than last time. Sadly I ended up losing my balance and fell backward. Instinctively Hunter caught me. His arms wrapped around me and a tingle went down my spine. I could feel his muscles. He was strong, I could tell. He lifted me back up and held on to my waist.
"You're not going to fall that easily."
"Thanks for catching me."
"Anytime." Then he leaned down into my ear to whisper something. "I've got your back." He said in the faintest voice. It tickled my ear and sent shivers down my body.
He moved his face to face mine. He looked deep into my eyes trying to ask for something. Then he leaned forward and so did I. Our lips touched. His were soft. It was such a little kiss, so gentle, but it meant the world to me. It sent tingles down my spine and all I wanted was to kiss him again. And I did. He kept his arms around my waist and I wrapped mine around his neck pulling his face down to mine. He was a good kisser. A good first kiss. I played with his hair as he gave me one last kiss.
After we pulled away we stayed silent. Not an awkward silence. It was more like words would ruin the moment. We both knew it. I definitely did not want to ruin this moment. It was special. I sat close to him and rested my head on his shoulder. He rested his head on my head.
Finally out of our enchantment we realized that study hall would not last forever.
"Remember Hunter you're meeting my other friends during lunch."
"Or we could stay down here and I could kiss you more." He joked.
I rolled my eyes. He was amazing. Even more than before and that's saying a lot since he was pretty amazing. And now he was with me.
