Hunter

The rest of the day was fine.  A few kids offered to give me a tour around the school but I declined.  I didn't need the attention.  I didn't want to be a Riverside High.  I was in my last class, English, and the bell was about to ring.  The teacher completely ignored that fact that I was a new student and I was okay with that.  Finally the bell rang and I ran to my locker that had been assigned to me this morning.  I shoved a few books in and practically bolted out the door.  I would get away of that place as fast as I could.

"Hey new girl."  I heard a voice say from across the hall.  I turned to see the boy from science.  Hunter wasn't it?

"Uh whats up?"  I could see his eyes now.  They were dark blue, violet almost.

"You left this in Science.  I don't know if its important or anything, but yeah..."  He handed me my charm bracelet.  It had charms from everywhere I traveled, which was a lot traveling from Florida to Colorado.

"Thanks."

"Yeah no problem.  Didn't want anyone stealing it right?"

"Yep.  Thanks again."  We parted our separate ways.  I exited the school and searched the parking lot until I found my car.  I got in and drove home.  Once I got there I dropped my bag on the ground and went to the kitchen to go get a snack.

"What's up Cora?"  Said Kyle my younger brother.  He was in 7th grade this year and he wasn't super upset about us moving.

"Not much."  I said and ruffled his hair.

"Don't touch my hair!"  He said and started fixing it.  "It is my best feature."

I rolled my eyes.  Kyle was tall like me.  His blonde hair was parted to the side.  He had slightly darker blue eyes then mine.  He had dimples and freckles on his face.  Kyle was a popular kid.  I don't know about here but in Florida he was.  He had super tan skin.  And he was nice to everyone.  He only ever had been rude to me, as far as I can tell, and he doesn't do that often.  When we were in Florida he had always had a billion friends come over from school.  He was the opposite of me.  I was nice to everyone on the outside but on the inside I was practically exploding.  While I had my group of friends in Florida I was never all that popular.  Kyle was super athletic.  I spent more of my time on academics and music.  I used to play volleyball but that was in middle school.

"Make any friends Kyle?"

"Oh yeah."  He said and proceeded to name the long list of kids he had met today.  "What about you?"

I should have been expecting that question.  "Um not yet.  I was just kind of getting my feel around the place."  He nodded.

"Guess what Cora.  Basketball tryouts are soon.  Do you think I should try out?"

"Do it.  I'd be really surprised if you didn't make it."

"Okay."

"I'm going to go do my homework."  I said and walked off to my room.  There were still boxes in multiple places and my room wasn't anywhere close to decorated.  I pulled out my homework and did about half of it until I got distracted by my phone.  I looked through Instagram and saw a picture of my friend Julia by the beach.  I liked it and commented that I missed her.  In almost an instant she responded.  Miss you too.  We should meet up next summer or something.  The thought of that sounded amazing but how would I possibly ever convince my parents to do that?

I sighed and closed my phone when I got another Instagram notification.  Darkhunter589 started following you.  And then there was another.  Darkhunter589 commented on your post.  I opened it up to see who this person was.  I looked at the profile and there was a picture of a guy.  It was a side shot so I could only see part.  I had a hoodie on and dark brown hair.  The bio said:  My names Hunter and no I do not hunt.  So it was Hunter.  I looked at what he commented.  It was my picture of me and my family when we went on a speedboat at the beach.  He said:  Nice beach where is it?

Florida.  That's where I used to live.

That's cool.  Colorado must suck compared to Florida.

It's okay I guess.

That was the end of our conversation.  I followed him back, turned off my phone, and finished my homework.
