Chapter 1

Hey guys. Well here it is. The 1st chapter of Moving Forward the sequel to Redneck Lover. Enjoy :)

* 8 1/2 months later*

*Adelyne*

I came down the stairs slowly holding the rail. I felt like a beached whale and I felt everyone staring at me when I walked by. I wasn't suprised I was huge or at least I felt huge. I made it down to the bottom and ran a hand through my hair.

"You look like you're carrying a bowling ball" Rick said leaning against his cell opening.

I looked at him and narrowed my eyes playfully. He had gotten use to the fact that I was pregnant. He was actually excited he was going to be a grandpa.

"Thanks, I'll be sure to tell your grandchild you once refered to them as a bowling ball" I told him chuckling.

I walked out into the sun and wobbled my way over to the food. Carol turned and smiled at me handing me a plate of food.

"Morning mama to be" she said.

I smiled and took the plate and took a bite.

"Thank you, I'm so hungry. So, did you and Daryl happen to find-"

As if she knew what I was going to say she pulled out three snickers bars. My face lit up it had been so long since I seen chocolate. I took and squealed kissing her on the cheek.

"Oh thank you!"

Carol laughed and I hugged her.

"Its just chocolate Al"

I pulled away.

"Do you know how long its been since I've seen chocolate?" I giggled ripping it open and taking a bite.

It was then I felt an arm wrap around my waist. I smiled and pressed closer to Daryl who now stood at my side.

"I see you got your treat" he said smiling.

I looked up and him and he kissed me quickly. He rubbed my stomach and urged me to walk with him and Carol. We approached the gate and I sighed. There were heards of walkers on the fence. It seemed to be getting bigger everyday.

"This is bad" I mumbled.

We had people down there killing the walkers but there was a lot.

"This is manageable but not for long" Carol stated.

I nodded and told them I'd right back. I opened the gate and walked down onto the feild.  I walked over to Rick and Carl who had made there way into the feild. I got there slower than usual but I made it. I smiled and Carl looked up as well and hugged me. I hugged him back and kissed the top of his head. I looked at Rick and he smiled at me too and grabbed my face in his hands.

"Look at you Mom you're glowing" he teased.

I groaned.

"I think it's the humidity" I joked.

I looked back at Carl and he wasn't far from us. But he was working,

"Dad, I wanted to talk to you" I explained.

He looked at me and we walked a little further away.

"What's up?"

I bit my lip,

"Look I know you're taking all this time off and I get it. But Dad those fences, they aren't going to hold forever. There are a lot of walkers, even with people taking them out it seems they just regenerate again. We need to do something" I explained.

Rick sighed and put his hand on my shoulders.

"You, don't need to do anything. The only thing you need to do is take care of yourself and my grandchild you're carrying" he explained.

I was about to say something else when we heard a whistle.

"Come on."

Rick and Carl both ran and opened the gate while Michonne came riding up on a horse. I smiled as I walked over to her.

"Nice to see you" Rick told her.

"Nice to see you too, someone hit the jackpot" Michonne said handing Carl more comics.

After he thanked her I walked closer.

"Hey Michonne, glad to see you're safe."

Michonne smiled.

"Same to you Adelyne."

I held out my arms.

"Come on bring it in"

"No."

I walked closer holding out my arms still.

"Love me, yes you do. Come on give Adelyne a squeeze."

Michonne laughed and have me a hug.

"You gonna stay a while?" Rick asked.

'Just a little while.

Suddenly I heard the rumble of a motorcycle and Daryl came down follwed by a few cars.

"Well well well look who's back."

"Didn't find him."

Michonne had been out looking for The Govenor all this time. And every time she never found him. I wished she wouldn't leave anymore and just stayed here. Stayed safe.

"Glad to see you in one piece" Daryl told her.

"Im thinking of looking over near Macon" no one said anything. "Its worth a shot."

"Seventy miles of walkers. Might run into a few unneighborly types, is it?" He asked.

I stood next to Daryl on his motorcycle. Even though he looked at Rick he pulled me against him.

"We're gonna hit the big spot. The place I told you about. Seen it?"

Rick nodded.

"Yeah I need to check the snares. I don't want to lose whatever we catch to the walkers."

"I'll go" Michonne said.

"You just got here" Carl protested.

She smiled at him.

"And I'll be back."

Daryl stood up and I looked up at him.

"This is killing me, I can't help and I can't see you. All I do is worry when you're away. I wish you didn't have to do" I explained to him.

Daryl brushed my face with his hand.

"Baby, no fear alright. Worrying isn't good for you or the baby. Don't worry sweetie"

I looked into his blue eyes.

"Come back to me."

Daryl kissed my passionately.

"I always do."

I kissed him one last time and watched everyone roll out the gate.
