You two dropped the bags off in the backseat of the car. He didn't let go of your hand, it felt nice. His hand was warm and comforting, not to mention suspiciously soft. As Ry pushes the car door shut you check your phone quickly, it's close to 2pm.
He leans against the car and crosses his arms, letting go of your hand. "What's the time?". "Almost 2, got any other places to go other then the movies? We could go late in the night maybe."
Ry sighs a bit, thinking "We could" he pauses. A moment later his head shoots up and he snaps his fingers "I have an idea" he says, a bit louder then he should have. Before you could question him he had an arm around your waist and was guiding you to the passenger door. Ryan opened the door and flashed you a mysterious smile before closing the door for you.
Once he circled back around and climbed into the car he spoke up. "It's a surprise". You gave him a confused look but didn't question him further.
"But before we get to that, let's grab a drink or something" Ryan says driving out of the parking lot.
After a few moments passed Ryan pulled into a Starbucks drive-thru. "So what do you want?" he says, turning his head towards your direction.
"Uhm" you reply and take a minute to come up with your order. The car that was telling the speaker their order ahead of you drove to the window as Ryan pulled up to the speaker.
"Welcome to Starbucks. What can I get you today?" the girl on the other side asks through the static.
"Can I get a medium chai latte and" he turns to you and you whisper your order "Make that two chai lattes/a vanilla bean frapachino" he then adds a thank you and slowly goes to the window to pay.
You let Ryan cover it this time since the card scanner wouldn't reach your seat. Once you two get out on the road again he finally gives you a hint to where he was taking you.
"I found this place when I was driving to pick up my sis from a party"
"Well that sounds fun" you say sarcastically.
"At least one good thing came from that night. Anyway do you want to listen to the radio?" he asks. You nod and turn the radio onto a station that seemed promising.
"Well that's no Tupac but it'll do" he laughs.
"Oho trust me they would have to put up and instrumental version cause of the censoring" you give a slight chuckle and watch the farms go by. "Hey I thought you said you picked her up from a party? This looks like the middle of no-where".
"Oh they all broke into an abandoned barn to smoke and drink, y'know party stuff" he says rubbing his neck awkwardly. You decide not to push it. "So what's this secret place?".
He tears his gaze from the road to look you in the eyes and says "Now if I told you it would ruin it, wouldn't it?" he smiles and his eyes drift back to the now dirt path ahead. You groan at his stereotypical answer and slump against the car seat. "Oh common it's true" he playfully wraps his arm around your shoulders, nudging you slightly.
"Just cause it's true doesn't mean its nice" you pout, his hand grips around your shoulder for a moment and then retreats back. His bright blue eyes meet yours. A moment goes past, the car slows, and your heart flutters. Your cheeks turn pink, you can't shake the eye contact. There is no telling as to what is he thinking.

Ryan gently pokes your nose, immediately ruining the mood he set up. You turn away, flushed cheeks fading and slight frustration building. "You fuck" you mumble. "Oh common!" he laughs away. You can barely hear the soft song playing over his laughter, you end up giving in and join him in laughing your head off. The car speeds up again taking a left turn into the woods.
The small dirt path outlined in trees opened out into a clearing. The tall trees stopped and the dirt turned into crumpled down grass. The grass surrounding the car was severely over grown, it was almost as tall as the car in some patches. The path was turning to the left, leading to a flat square patch of dirt.
On that plot of land was an old, faded barn house. The doors were permanently open, paint chipped and wood missing. To the side of the barn were fences, they looked like they housed some sort of farm animal.
Ryan parks the car a few feet from the barn. He takes the keys out and turns to you. "Cool isn't it?"
You look around again, taking off your seat belt. "It's" you trail off. In town you didn't get to see the beautiful fall trees, the ones that had leaves of reds and oranges and browns. But here, the wind blew the different leaves over top the long grass. Behind the dancing red and orange leaves you could see into the rather damaged barn. The two doors were opened, and seemed to be like that for years, and the floor inside was cluttered with hay. You couldn't see any other detail from that distance. You open the door and barely hear Ryan lean with you against the car. You both take in the scene around you both.
"I'm speechless." you say in awe. Ryan takes your hand and pulls you towards the barn entrance "Common this isn't even what I wanted to show you." "One sec" you say tearing his grip from your hand. You rush back to the car to grab your phone and Polaroid. The Polaroid will only be for the really good photo opportunity, you wouldn't want to waste film would you?
You then jog back to Ryan and you two look around the barn. He takes the right and you go left. On the left wall there are hooks and some stables. On one of the 4 hooks there was a pair of rusty old sheers, at your feet was a dusty old wire brush hidden under the hay. You step back and aim your phone at the hooks.

Walking around to the stables you investigate each of them. The first one was completely empty, the gate was torn off its hinges. You slide to the one next of it. This one was the opposite to its neighbor, it was completely trashed. Various garbage was stacked in the trough. On top you could see a blanket covering most of it, a random car part and a naked Barbie doll missing some hair. "Fucking creepy" you whisper stepping back with a

The third and finale stable was most likely home to someone. It had a sleeping bag, magazines strewn around and various cans. This might have been a homeless persons shelter but it seemed almost as abandoned as the rest of the barn, you decided against taking a picture of this stable.
Just then Ryan calls you over. The right wall was barren, a few more hooks with old unusable saddles and combs. The barn was pretty much empty. You walk over to Ry, under you both were beer cans, cigarette buds and some other trash. Above you was an opening, most likely to get onto the second floor of the barn. He looks at you and then the opening and then you again. "What? Do you actually want to go up there? It looks hella unsafe and not to mention there's no ladder" you say leaning against a piller conveniently behind you.
"But I could lift you up" he says looking back up the opening "I kinda wanna see what's up there too". "Oh jeez" sighing you think it over. "I dunno this seems sketchy, I don't want to run into someone up there". "Aw common, you can film it and show me when you get back" he says walking over to you and placing both his hands on your hips while leaning into to. He was so close you couldn't stop your face from flushing so you avoid eye contact. "I'll do it, carpe diem and all that crap" you sigh. He smiles and hugs you tightly then rushes off "I'm grabbing a flash light!!".
Exhaling you go back under the hole. It seems harmless enough, you doubt you'd even find anything up there. Maybe some old storage stuff or graffiti.
