When an alpha is done with their omega they will most likely just tell the omega and leave. Eventually the alpha's scent will disappear from the omega even if the omega doesn't want it to.
When an omega is through with their alpha it is practically the same case. Law prevents alpha's from trying to force the omega to still smell like them so if an omega calls for divorce the alpha will be removed. This will allow for the scent to disappear.
