Chapter 2- Busy Day

       I am walking down a long dimly lit hall. At the end is a series of doors they are metal and you had to press a button to get in. One of the doors were open, The one to the left  I walk through the door to the left and see a man sitting in front of a control panel surrounded by white screens. He turns around........

       I open my eyes. My alarm clock is beeping and flashing, 8:00! Shoot I'm going to be late for school! I get dressed in a white t-shirt and black jeans then throw my hair up with a black bow and pull on some black converse and top it off with a black choker (outfit above). before running downstairs grabbing my bag and a piece of toast and running out of the door. 

       When I enter the school I see Evan at his locker with one of his friends. I run over to him. I punch him hard in the arm "WHY DIDN'T YOU WAKE ME UP!!" I demand

"owwww," he says rubbing his arm then adds: "Sorry I tried but you wouldn't wake up!"

His voice was filled with fake sympathy.

"plus I didn't want to ruin your perfect dreams" he smiles.

I frown at him "I'll have you know I did have a dream"  

"Oh really? What was it about?" he retorts.

"I forgot..." 

He grins mocking me. He knows that I normally forget my dreams. Evan's friend chuckles. I had almost forgotten he was there!

"Oh sorry Jackson this is my little sis Cora," he says

"I'm not YOUR little anything, Evan" I spit back at him. 

He smiles "yea.. sure you aren't. Anyway, Cora, this is Jackson"

Jackson holds out his hand for me to shake I accept it, I can tell he is strong. He is taller than me by about  6 inches,  he has messy blonde hair and his eyes are a  light green-blue ocean color. for a minute we just stand there looking at each other awkwardly. Then I realize we're still shaking hands, I back up and feel my face heat up

"Ahem I have to go it was nice meeting you Jackson," I say

"As to you too," he says red dust his cheeks, he seemed as flustered as I was. 

I continue down the hall to my classroom passing all the 11th-grade classes my brother takes. Finally, I got to my class. The 10th-grade sector of the school is all the way at the back of the building. I have no idea why they set it up that way but it keeps me some-what fit so I don't mind. I walk into the classroom and see my BFF Sasha sitting next to a boy. Of course, she always has to flirt with EVERY boy she sees whether they are cute or not. The boy leaves and I take his place.

"Who's your new victim" I tease

"Ha ha ha" she laughs sarcastically "his name is Alex if you really need to know."

She will never learn.

After school, I walked back home instead of riding the bus because why not and it gave me more time to read my awesome new book. I was walking down the road reading when I hit something hard. I fall. Everything goes black

I open my eyes to see a pair of ocean eyes staring into mine, They belonged to Jackson, the boy that was with my brother this morning. I felt my face heat up he was so close to me.

"H-hi" I manage to say.

He smiles a sweet smile and chuckles a little bit before standing and holding out his hand for me to take. He pulls me up still smiling

"Glad to see you're OK," he says his voice calm and full of relief.

I looked at him and he looked back at me then he looked down at his watch.

"Shoot The library might be closed by now," he said worriedly.

"Well I could let you in, I'm a library assistant on weekends so I have a key," I suggest.

"Really? Thanks" he says gratefully.

As we are walking it gets darker and darker. Jackson pulls out his phone and used it as a flashlight. When we get to the library I scan my key card and open the doors. Its dark but some of the lamps are left on overnight so we could see.

"Woah this place is creepy at night" I shudder.

Jackson notices and says "I could hold your hand."

I roll my eyes, "Just return the book."

He chuckles and keeps walking and I follow. Just as he reaches to put his book in the return basket the librarian-bot behind the desk jerks its head up. I jump and grab on to Jackson's arm. I point to the robot that is slowly coming out from behind the desk. Jackson pulls me back with him as he backs away. soon we hit a wall. The bot keeps coming toward us when it stops, I can hear Jackson's heart beating fast.

"Hello-how-may-I-help-you?" the bot says in a metallic voice

I let out the breath I didn't realize I was holding. I let go of Jackson.

"We were only here to return a book," Jackson says sternly. 

the bot stepped aside and I hurried out with Jackson close behind me. As soon as we got out of the building he laughed so hard he collapsed I reached out to catch him but it was too late he hit his head, he was unconscious.

"Jackson!"
