(*Make sure you read the note at the end of this chapter!! Enjoy lovelies<3*)

David and I continued fake dating for first month of school. Now, we're really dating. We've been together for 3 months and it's been amazing. He's been there for me for through everything. He makes me feel better, more self confident. I don't love him, but I'm sure I will soon. The really cool thing is that ever since I've been dating him, people have been talking to me and wanting to be my friend. I almost forgot what that was even like. I missed it.

"Hey babe," David kisses my cheek as he sits down at the lunch table.

"Hey!" I greet back with a smile.

"Ooh, someone's in a good mood!"

"Yeah, Austin hasn't bugged me at all today and people asked me if they could sit with me at lunch. It's been a good day."

David smiles and gives me a peck on the lips. "That's great!" He leans in and whispers in my ear, "I love seeing you happy."

"You two are so cute it's not even fair." Layla, who is now my bestfriend folds her arms across her chest and pouts.

Layla is the girl that always has a boyfriend. She's gorgeous, and what every guy wants. She and David used to be a thing, but I didn't know until after we started dating for real and they're totally cool now. Anyway, Layla has the most gorgeous blonde hair you'd ever seen. Her eyes are big and brown, she's a cheerleader, and has a great body. She's what every boy wants to have, and she's not used to boys not throwing themselves at her.

David moves his face away from my ear and wraps an arm around my waist. "Yeah, we know."

I slap his arm playfully. "David! Be nice!"

He puts his arms up in defense and laughs. "Why don't you go talk to Austin?"

"I don't know.. Katie, is that okay with you?"

I knit my eyebrows together and shake my head at her. "Why would I care?"

She shrugs. "I don't know. I thought you liked it when he hit on you?"

I practically spit my food out. "No. I hate when he hits on me. I hate when he talks to me. I hate when he looks at me. I. Hate. Him. Please, go get him so he'll stop throwing himself at me."

Layla looks around the cafeteria until she spots him. "I'll be back." She gets up and walks over to where he is.

I sigh angrily and David wraps his arm around me again. "What's wrong?"

"She knows I hate him. Why would she ask if it was okay? I have you, and I never ever wanted him."

David squeezes me tight for a second and then goes back to just resting his arm around me. "You know how Layla is. She's clueless."

I chuckle at that. "Yeah, I guess you're right."

David and I go back to eating and conversing with each other as well as a few other people that are sitting with us. A kid sits down at our table and doesn't say anything, he just eats. We all find that kind of weird but we just shrug it off.

A few minutes later, Layla comes back with tears streaming down her face. She sits down and buries her head in her hands.

"Layla, what's wrong?" David asks her, clearly concerned.

David is always so protective over his friends. He's like a big brother to everyone. Except me. He's way more protective over me than he is anyone else. If a guy even smiles at me, he's all up in their face. Now, don't get me wrong, it's cute, but sometimes I just wish he would chill out. Like, just because a boy smiles at me and I smile back doesn't mean that I'm going to go fuck them.

"Austin is such an asshole!" She exclaims.

"Told you," I mutter under my breath. David pinches me and gives me a glare, then smiles and shakes his head. "What did he do?"

"He said that he doesn't deal with stupid sluts like me and that I was stupid to even go over there! And then his friends joined in.. They wouldn't let me leave until I started to cry..."

I slam my fists on the table and stand up. "I'll be back."

I get out of David's grip and walk over to Austin's table. Yeah, he's an asshole and he's going to be like that to everyone, but the fact that his friends joined in? No. Don't mess with my bestfriend. I get to Austin's table and cross my arms across my chest.

Austin looks up and smirks. "Hey beautiful, finally leave that loser and come for me?" His friends laugh. I walk over to him and slap him in the back of the head. "Bitch, what the fuck was that for?!"

"Don't you ever mess with my bestfriend! You guys are all assholes who are going to die alone because nobody will want to deal with your sorry asses!"

Austin stands up and faces me. "What did you say?" He growls.

"You fucking heard me."

I expect him to yell in my face or call me a bitch or something, but no. He grabs me by my shoulders, pulls me in, and plants his lips on mine. I try so hard to pull away but his grip on me is too tight. In the next second my lips are free and Austin is being pushed back by David.

"Don't touch my girlfriend." David sneers.

"I'll do what I want. This is a free country, bitch."

"I swear to god, if you-" David starts but is interrupted by the new kid that sat at our table.

"Do y'all have to fight in front of the lady here?" He says. His voice is high and squeaky. He wears his pants up to his waist and wears a white button up polo shirt that's tucked into his pants.

Austin and David both turn to look at him.

"Who the hell are you?" Austin growls.

The new kid pushes his Harry Potter glasses up to the bridge of his nose. "Oh, pardon me. My name is Jordan Gordner, I'm new here in town."

"Obviously," David scoffs.

"May I ask you what you mean by that?"

David lets go of Austin and walks closer to him. "I mean, it's obvious that you're new here. If you weren't, you would know to mind your own damn business. Now get out of here."

"I was only trying to-"

"Jordan I think you should go." I cut in. He looks at me and I shoot him a look that says 'I'm sorry' and he nods and walks away.

"What the hell was that?" I hear Austin laugh behind me.

David turns around. "Don't know, don't care. Keep your hands off my girlfriend, got it?"

"Ooooh I'm so scared!" Austin says in a girly voice.

"Whatever." David pulls me into him and kisses me. I kiss back and pull away. "C'mon babe," he puts extra emphasis on babe, "let's go back to our table."

"Umm okay."

As we're walking back to our table, I hear Austin and David say at the same time, "What's with the new kid?"
