"You're an idiot, I tell you! A pure idiot! You could have died!" Bryson shouted as he paced back and forth in front of me.
Currently, I was sprawled out on the wool couch in pain. He was right, I was an idiot. I shouldn't have jumped off the sixty footer. I knew that the second my body hit the water because it didn't feel like I was falling into water but instead coming face to face with concrete.
"But, no! You don't listen to me! You don't seem to understand gravity works differently with girls and boys. You're anatomy and body cannot handle that kind of gravity force. Now! Because you decided not to listen to me you are going to have bruises on your legs tomorrow and you're going to be super sore! Hell! You might not be able to walk! Elle! Are you listening to me?!"
I rolled my eyes over in his direction. "It is hard not to hear and listen to you when you are shouting like you are." I spoke in a calmly manner, hoping he would stop shouting at me like I was a four-year-old.
Bryson huffed, "Elle, I am serious here-"
"I am too."
Walking over to me, Bryson kneeled down next to me. "You're an idiot-"
"You told me that the whole time you carried me back here and then you said it a thousand more times when we got here. I get it, I was an idiot."
"You scared the shit out of me! You nearly drowned! You could have died!"
"Be careful Bryson, you are sounding worried," I stated with a smile in hopes of lifting up his mood.
"How can you smile at a time like this? ... You're injured..."
"I am, but what is new? I've always been a magnet for injuries. I'm used to it."
Bryson removed a strand of hair from my face and tucked it under my ear. "I would ask you to promise me that you wouldn't do something like that anymore, yet, I find myself not able to trust you."
I chuckled, "I am sorry about that. My actions do give you the right not to trust me, because I did say that if you kissed me I wouldn't jump ... and I did it anyways ... But, since you are, as of right now, Nice Bryson, you won't punish me for doing that. You will trust me ... right?" I asked with pleading eyes.
Bryson rolled his green eyes at me. "Trust you with my life ... but I don't trust you with your own," He told me.
I giggled, "Wise man. Never trust an adrenaline junkie."
Raising an eyebrow, Bryson smiled, "Adrenaline junkie? ... Oh, it all makes sense now..."
Stuck my tongue out at him, "Yes, I am an adrenaline junkie. And the first thing to remember about junkies, don't take their drugs ... or in my case, don't tell me not to do something daring because I will still do it."
"That could end up killing you, Elle. If, you keep giving into your adrenaline cravings."
"It hasn't killed me yet-"
"Elle, you will not do anything stupid like that again." His voice was stern and it was almost like he was setting the record straight that he would make sure I wouldn't do anything daring.
"Mmmk..."
"I am serious, Elle. In my presence you will not do anything life threatening."
"Are you telling me not to live? I mean, think about it this way, Bryson, everything can kill you: water, cars, coffee, trees, planes, etc, etc... Hell, even our bodies can kill us and we really have no hourglass telling us when we will or won't die. So, why not live? Why not feel the rush and-"
