The last chorus of the song filled the room and I could feel my energy dwindling along with the buzz of the alcohol. I reopened my eyes to find that Bryson was staring down at me with mixed emotions swirling in his green eyes. His hot hands were still placed firmly on my hips as we stopped moving. If it wasn't for his physical contact I don't think I would believe what I just did because I had never, in my whole entire life, danced so risqué towards someone.
Mentally, I told myself that if Kat had not seen my actions that I wouldn't tell her. She would rant non-stop about how she wished she would have seen Bryson's face when I danced with him. Also, no doubt, she would ask me for every detail of what I did and then critique it by telling me what I should have done.
Placing my hand on the bottom of Bryson's chin, I closed his slightly opened mouth. "Keep it closed," I whispered in a tantalizing manner, "might catch a fly." With that said I wiggled out of his grip and stepped away. I gave Bryson a smile before turning around and slipping out the back door that was a few feet away.
The second I was outside a breeze washed over me, immediately cooling me off. My eyes danced around my surroundings to find I was in Marc Jacks' backyard. He had a nice size backyard, about a quarter acre, with the greenest grass I'd ever seen. There was a stone path laid out before me that led to a concrete patio area that was in the middle of the yard. I looked over to see the bonfire Max told us about earlier in the middle of the patio. There was a good amount of people hanging out over there, twenty-nine people to be exact. All of them were either laughing or chatting away with their friends.
I debated on if I should go over there and join the fun, but declined the idea when I looked up at the sky and thought about how, I for once in my life, wanted some peace and quiet...
"Elle! There you are!" Kat said as she rushed over to me. "Can you please get Ranny off my tail? The damn boy has been chasing me all over this party, talking about how we had to go! But, honestly, I'm having so much fun and really don't want to go! We just got here; I don't even think we have been here more than an hour!" Kat ranted indicating that she was drunker than a skunk.
"Where is he now?" I questioned with a raised brow.
"I think he might still be standing outside the upstairs bathroom. I ran into the bathroom a little while ago and locked the door. Luckily for me there was a window, climbed out and some guys from the football team caught me."
Looking up at the second floor, I saw a window that was open and figured that was the one she climbed out of. Before I could even look away I saw Randall's head pop out of the window. "You two! Stay where you are!" He demanded.
"Run!" Kat screamed and then started to run in circles.
Giving off a chuckle, I stopped her. "Kat, you aren't going to get away from him if you keep running in circles."
"But, circles are fun! They make you dizzy!"
Grabbing her hand, I didn't reply to Kat's comment as I started to flee away with her in tow. Upon rounding the corner of the house, I came face to face with Bryson. "You know, stalking is illegal!" I told him.
"Oh, is that Bryson?! Hey, BryBry!" Kat called out to him as I dragged her to the front lawn.
"Lower your voice or Ranny will find us," I hissed as I looked around for some place for us to hide.
"Sorry, I just had to say hi to BryBry. You know his grandmother is really good friends with mine."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, come on. Let's go for a walk around the block." I suggested knowing that after a walk around the block we would have wasted enough time for Ranny give up on the hunt for us.
