After leaving her brother behind, the female calico pounced easily over the scraps of junk back to where they'd first seen Jemima, however the adolescent kit was no longer to be seen. Rumpleteazer glanced around in panic, aware that she could still hear the Pollicle nearby. Going with her logical instinct (something she rarely did) and followed the sound of the of the Pollicle's barks until she came to the entrance of a tunnel. Or so she thought it was the entrance until Jemima came tumbling out head first.

"There you are!" Rumpleteazer yelped gleefully. Jemima glanced to her friend in panic before jumping up and pulling the calico along with her.

"Why did you come back?" Jemima yowled as the pair scampered over the junk. The Pollicle was hot on their paws now, growling and barking its canine threats.

"Because you're my friend and you're defenseless!" Rumpleteazer countered.

"So are you!" Jemima meowed.

"Touche!" The two young females climbed a scrap pile to the very peak and looked around. There were two more Pollicles approaching now. The three circled the base of the junk pile, growling, sniffling and snuffling.

"What now?!" Jemima panicked as she scratched at her ear as a nervous twitch.

"I got a plan. It might get us both killed, but if it works it'll be a totally boss story and they'll sing sing about it at the Jellicle ball! Cool?" Rumpleteazer babbled. Jemima shook her head violently, her already large eyes wide.

"No. No, it's not cool!" She screeched.

"Cool." Rumpleteazer mused as she grabbed hold of Jemima's black paw.

"No! I said it's not cool!" Jemima yowled however it was too late, Rumpleteazer meowed at the very top of her lungs, alerting the three dogs of their whereabouts on the junk pile. "What did you do that for?!" Jemima screamed as she watched the Pollicles band together. Suddenly, Rumpleteazer tugged on Jemima's paw, hauling the smaller cat into the shopping cart that was balancing on the junk mountain.

"Hold on tight!" Rumpleteazer squealed excitedly as the cart began to shift.

"We're gonna die!" Jemima shrieked whilst the cart hurtled uneasily down the pile. The metal frame barreled into the dogs, sending them yelping to the side. The two young cats, one squeaking happily and one begging to get off, zoomed along the path well away from the awful Pollicles. The cart crashed into the old remains of a bathtub, sending the kits flying out of the cart and tumbling to the dusty ground with a thud.

Jemima groaned as she could feel a dull pain begin to make itself known in the back of her head. Instantly, Rumpleteazer sat up, a wide grin over her face and her tail swished happily.

"Not gonna lie, that was amazing! I should get Mungo, he'd love that!" Rumpleteazer cheered. Suddenly, Munkustrap, Skimbleshanks, Jennyanydots, Cassandra and Admetus pounced out of no where, their eyes wide in shock at the scene before them.

"Oh thank goodness!" Jenny sighed in relief, clapping a paw to her chest.

"Well at least these two are in one piece." Cassandra muttered sarcastically.

"Mostly..." Jemima murmured, standing up and swaying slightly. Skimbleshanks hurried over to help keep her upright, letting the younger cat rest her head on his shoulder.

"That was brilliant though, you have to admit it, Jemima." Rumpleteazer giggled. The smaller cat merely nodded as Skimble lead her away.

"We must retrieve the others now so we can all return to the dens safely." Munkustrap meowed sternly, ushering everyone on.
