Silently, Victoria crept out from a den into the clearing of the yard. From the other side, Jemima appeared and the pair joined Old Deuteronomy in the center. He then began to sing softly with the cats in front of him.

Old Deuteronomy: Jellicle cats come out tonight! Jellicle cat come one, come all.

Old D, Victoria, Jemima + Munk: The Jellicle moon is shining bright! Jellicles come to the Jellicle ball.

Alonzo slunk out from the left singing and swaying his hips flirtatiously.

Alonzo: Jellicle cats are black and white. Jellicle cats are rather small. Jellicle cats are merry-

Pouncival: And bright!

Jemima smiled sweetly at her soon-to-be mate Alonzo as their paws touched.

Jemima and Victoria: And pleasant to hear when we caterwaul!

Hesitantly, Skimble popped out from his hiding spot, Tumblebrutus not too far behind.

Skimbleshanks: Jellicle cats have cheerful faces!

Tumblebrutus: Jellicle cats have bright black eyes!

Mistoffelees: We like to practice our airs and graces!

Some more cats emerged as held a paw up to the sky admiringly.

And wait for the Jellicle moon to rise!

Munk, Plato + Admetus: Jellicle cats develop slowly.

Callus: Jellicle cats are not to big!

Asparagus: Jellicle cats are rolly polly!

Misto and Skimble: We know how to dance a gavotte and a jig!

Demeter and Hariena: Until the Jellicle moon appears!

Bombalurina: We make our toilette and take our repose.

Next, Electra cartwheeled out of a den to Jenny who tickled her behind the ears, Pouncival performed multiple flips but was interrupted by Jelly who had a stern expression.

Jennyanydots: Jellicles was behind their ears!

Jellylorum: Jellicles dry between their toes.

Tantomile and Coricopat appeared and gracefully strode out singing.

Tanto and Cori: Jellicle cats are white and black.

Mungo and Rumple: Jellicle cats are of moderate size!

Tumble, George + Pounce: Jellicles jump like jumping jacks!

Cassandra: Jellicle cats have moonlit eyes!

After the Burmese cat sang her line, the cats all spun into a tight circle facing inwards before turning back out and arching their backs in time with the rhythm.

We're quiet enough in the morning hours, we're quiet enough in the afternoon.

Munk and Misto: Reserving our terpsichorean powers!

To dance by the light of the Jellicle moon!

Each Jellicle broke off individually or with a partner or small group. Alonzo leaped into the air, kicking out each leg perfectly straight.

Alonzo: Jellicle cats are black!

Rumple, Victoria + Etcetera: And white!

Misto, Skimble + Tumble: Jellicle cats, as we said, are small!

Munkustrap, Admetus and Plato charged diagonally down the yard, clawing at the air.

Munk, Admetus + Plato: If it happens to be a stormy night!

Misto, Skimble + Tumble: We will practice a caper or two in the hall.

If it happens the sun is shining bright!

Tugger and Callus: You would say we had nothing to do at all.

Callus high-fived his uncle before hopping out of the way of Etcetera whom was charging over to Tugger. She wiggled her way between his legs which made Callus cringe.

"Ew..." He grunted.

We are resting and saving ourselves to be right for the Jellicle moon and the Jellicle ball! Jellicle cats come out tonight! Jellicle cats come one, come all. The Jellicle moon is shining bright. Jellicles come to the Jellicle ball.

The cats formed the shape of a triangle, Victoria happened to be at the front with Demeter to her right and Jemima to her left. Hariena nuzzled against Demeter before pattering away to her place close by.

The atmosphere was full of energy yet it was slow as all the cats sung together.

Jellicle cats come out tonight! Jellicle cats come one, come all. The Jellicle moon is shining bright, Jellicles come to the Jellicle ball...
