Chapter 18
Jaden
As the double doors open to reveal the main hall, my breath was caught into my chest as I admire the transformation. It was absolutely beautiful. The theme and colour scheme complimented the other.
The students began walking into the hall, and my eyes wondered about the sight before me, even the chairs and stage was decorated. As we walked to the R. Kelly song, worlds greatest some of the students sang along and others did some dance moves along the way to their seats.
This caused the on lookers to laugh. I sighed to myself as I made my way across to my seat and remained sanding.
I turned and looked around only to meet the eyes of Simon, I mean he was seated right behind me. A smile made its way on my face; gosh can he be anymore handsome. Our eyes kept contact until the master of ceremony voice boomed through the mic.
Turning to look on stage, only to see Uncle John and Leo at the podium waiting to get the attention of the students, turned and look back a Simon who shrugged nonchalantly and also had an amused expression him his face.
Okay kids, settle down, the faster you do the faster you all will get to sit. Uncle Leo said, getting the attention as soon as he made the statement.
Good to see you all are eager to listen, he sniggered and John laughed lightly along with some other parents.
Now, firstly take your seats. Soon as we were told to sit, choruses of sighs were heard and parents laughed again.
Interesting, John said; they sighed. Do you think we should let them stand again and do it over, he asked amused. Causing us all to sigh and parents shouting yes, we all shouted no at the same time.
Okay, okay guys; settle down, we won't let you all do over anything. John said. But I do know the parents will love to see you all do it over and over again.
Right, firstly I'm John and this is Leo, we will be your masters of ceremony and we will try our best to keep you all awake in-between with the speeches.
Before we jump into the programme, we will like to congratulate all of you, for making it through high school, also we want to congratulate many of you who are going to pursue further studies and also congratulate those who are going into the working world right after today.
Having a degree, doesn't prepare you for the working world, which some of you are going to do, but those who chose to work and attend school at the same time you all have a great advantage against the others. We applause you
To the rest of you, when you start university, don't think it's an exotic get away, it is not. Actually it ten times the hell and you have to be persistent and focused to complete the years there. Prepare yourselves.
Now we will like to call on Mr. Matthews your Principal, to offer his best wishes to you all.
Somehow throughout the ceremony I lost interest in it. It started off so good, but with all the speeches and what not I got bored. Simon was leaning on the backrest of my seat and his hands were clasp into mines. The two people beside me saw this and sent an awkward glance at us.
I pushed them over and continued to play with his fingers. I was so lost throughout the speeches; I didn't even realize that my name was being called.
I jerked up, when my name was called again and a few gasp was heard. Somewhere in the body of students a few profanities was heard and some students laughed and coughed in-between trying to cover the laughing fools.
