Jaden

Soon as we exit the chopper we were greeted by some other dudes from the Navy, the flight captain and uncle William exchanging hand-shakes with the navy guys while Kevin and David were loading their belongings in a trolley cart thing.

As I made my way into the awaiting vehicle, I can feel the anticipation, in my stomach, excited maybe anxious, maybe bad shit scared.

I was brought out of my thoughts when Kevin sat next to me pulling me into his arms,

It will be fine Jaden, just breathe; think positive things, I'm right here, so is William and David, we all are here. I nodded onto his shoulders and chuckled.

I raised my head off his shoulders and looked him directly in his eyes, our eyes clashed as if were speaking with our eyes. Nothing about our interlocking of eyes said heated or intensified, it was just normal.

Kevin.... I trailed off, his eyes didn't move from mines, he held a soft gaze on me. Tell me, have you ever been in love?

At this point he blinked a few times, as if the memory was a sad one. Come on tell me, I coaxed. He sighed and let out a soft chuckle, scratching the back of his neck, it seems as if he was nervous to speak of that or it, or said person he was in love with.

Umm... yeah, I've fall head and heart first for this person, I have and the funny thing about it, when I saw them, I knew they were the one. Kevin smiled, a soft and gentle smile, it warmed my heart to know that this cocky and snide and tough guy is all gentle and soft when it comes to love.

I nodded encouraging him to continue, he smiled again and rest his head against the head rest, looking out the window, smiling to himself. He continued, it was so funny Jaden, to be honest.

I was shy and mad at myself for falling for a guy, I mean I knew I was inti girls, if you know what I mean? Right? He turned to me when I didn't answer. Oh yeah!

So, then this is what happened, I knew I wanted them after months or avoiding them, breathing the same air as them, walking the same halls, everything, I even picked fights with other students so I won't have to see them.

It got so bad, that one day, I didn't mean for anything bad to happen, when he walked into me during lunch, I did what I didn't want to do with them, I pushed them off me and screamed in their face, embarrassing them, called them fag and bullied them for some time.

Every time I hit or bully them, they will apologize for something they never did, they did nothing wrong, they were just perfect, and every time he apologizes my heart will break, because I was the cause of his torment.

Eventually I got tired and more mad at myself for tormenting him, one day I stopped when I saw him smile and even laugh at something his friend was telling his, it was such a wonderful smile and hearty laugh, and there and then it struck me that this guy is going to be the end and the death of me and I need to stop, I really need to stop and man up.

Okay, keep going..... I pushed for Kevin to continue.... But was cut short when uncle William turned to us. We're here, he announced, causing Kevin to smile a bit, not before say, we will continue this talk another day. Okay was my smart reply.

As we all came out of the truck, Kevin stood beside me, and as I looked at him one more time, I know this guy is tough on the outside but mushy on the inside.

You know, I started as I got his attention,

You're not so bad yourself Jaden..... So, what does this mean, I shrugged.

Friends, he extended his hands to me, friends I repeated ad we shook hands. It felt good, it felt really good that Kevin and I created something, something very special.
