Chapter 26

Simon

Right now, I am the happiest man alive; after the words left his mouth and registered in my head, I couldn't have wait to kiss him senseless, and that is what I did, not only that he had another thing coming for him. Now you all will understand why I'm the happiest man alive.

Flashback........

We all watched as he tackled John onto an embrace that we have never seen before. Everyone looked on as the two shared their father son moment; from the looks on their faces I know they were exchanging words.

We all know John had been a major factor in Jaden's life from since day one and nothing can break that bond. Everyone knows to this day that John is his papa bear and papa. You try to argue that with Jaden and he will shoot you down.

We all kept looking at the two and John pulled Jaden up and hoisted his hands in the air, claps and whistles were heard, even I myself let out a few whistles cheering my baby on.

I looked to Leo and I saw him give me thumbs up, so I know it's time and time to do what I have planned for him. I might have been a last minute plan but with the help of his friends and Leo I know it's going to go as I planned.

I nodded at Joey and Timothy to start the song, with that everyone fell into place and as we started to groove the cupid shuffle we got his attention. I kept eye contact with him as we all kept doing the dance.

As the song came to an end I went down onto my knees, whipped out the ring from my pocket and held it out to him. He pulled back and looked at the object in my hand like it was going to hurt him.

To be honest, I'm scared shitless, cold and exhausted and all I want to do right now is to be hugging my Jaden in bed.

My heart was beating so fast any minute I feel it will jump out my chest, my hands are shaking and I'm trying so hard to keep a cool expression when all I want to do is die and come alive again.

Jaden, I said in a shaky voice, I know what you are thinking but it is not. Jaden I've known you for far too long and you are the same person I have grown to love. You are that guy that I know I can't stay mad at for too long because being a day without you is like stabbing me with a dull knife.

Everyone laughed at my poor use of a metaphor. Jaden I can't promise the moon and stars but I can only try to give you that, or even better. Jaden I can't be the best man you want but I can only try to be the man you need.

I let out a nervous breath, Jaden we both have had good and bad times. But do you know which times had me devastated? He shook his head. It was the bad time Jaden because for all I know I thought you  have lost you for good because of my stupidity and yet you forgive me, and for that this is why I'm on my knees tonight proclaiming my love to you because I'm truly in love with you.

So Jaden will you allow me to be the man you need and the man who can only try his best to give you what you want and need. Would you give me that once chance to be a real man to you and let me love you unconditionally?

Would you let me be your fiancée? I asked and we all waited patiently for his response, I know my speech wasn't all that but I tried and all I wanted was for him to say yes.

I looked up and the only thing I make out was a simple nod as his tears escape his eyes. I from that nod, all I can do was let out a sigh, getting up and placing the ring where it rightfully belongs.

I pulled him into a sweet loving kiss and he did return it at the same intensity as I started it. He pressed his forehead against mines. I love you Jaden, so much and you don't know how much this means to me.

I held his hands and smiled, he blushed scarlet and the on lookers clapped and whistle at us. He leaned onto me and I allowed him to, I know he is tired and drained from today's adventures and now he is an engaged man and also engaged to a Reynolds's and I'm engaged to a McKenzie

He was pulled away by his family and friends, I looked on from my spot as everyone give him heads up on marriage and what not, he only laughed and blushed at certain intervals.

Congrats man, and firm hand pat my back, turning to come face to face with David, James friend as James claimed.

Thanks man, David right? I asked, and he simply nodded.

You've got yourself an amazing fiancée there Simon and do hold your end of the baring, treat him good and don't hurt him.

I nodded and I followed his eyes to the direction he was looking in.

You really like James huh? I asked and he let out a chuckle, only did he had the same feelings for me. He replied.

Why is that man, what is stopping you both? I asked, he is in love with Joey, plus I'm a marine and will be going back on tour soon.

David, I know you may not like my brother much, but man to man here, my brother have hurt James too many times and tonight is the first time I saw James so free and so alive, you definitely has an effect on him, I said.

He nodded. How long do you think I'll have to wait on James, Simon? He asked me, we both kept looking at James laugh and talk with Jaden but one thing that stand out on his face tonight was his smile, bright and flawless.

I don't know David, but trust me, make him fall for you. Make him cry for you a bit and when you go back on tour ignore him a bit, he will come running and begging you. We both let out a laugh because it only registered what I said and David looked as if it was the best idea ever.

David, just try to be the man he likes. That's the thing Simon, he said to me there is no future for us because I'm in the marines and he is on land. He is so afraid of the day he will get a call that I'm dead or something and he prefers that we remain friends.

Well David, you seem like a cool and awesome fellow, so I'll see what I can do for you to win his heart. He smiled, he was about to say something but his phone went off.

Excuse me, James rushed over to us all we can hear is yes sir and no sir and okay sir coming from him, Jaden rushed over to us and soon as David turned to us, he had tears in his eyes and what broke my heart was the way James rushed to him and hugged onto him for his dear life.

I pulled Jaden close, and all we heard was the word when escape James lips and the response caused James to faint. "One Hour" he said, we all looked as James dropped into David arms and my heart went out the guys in front of me.

If James didn't love David then he is so blind because he is going to let the man he was looking for so long walk back onto tour with a broken and heavy heart.

End of Flashback.....

Now, we all are in the airport as the David get ready to make his leave. James whimpering and crying onto his grandfather shoulders and yet he told David that they can't be together at the same time crying like a big fool.

We watch as David pulled James away from granddad and hugged him tightly, we couldn't hear what they are saying but the tears in David eyes said a lot. He held James at arm's length and placed a sweet kiss on his lips.

He nodded at everyone else and made his way across the gates as his name called by his commanding officer, one last look he give to James who is a crying mess on the floor, he blew a kiss and disappeared into the aircraft.

We made our way to our cars and I know Jaden was overly exhausted and is about to cap out anytime soon. The drive was quiet because Jaden indeed knocked out and the music was tasteless at the point in time.

As I parked the car, I went across to the other side and collected Jaden into my arms and carried him to his room, soon and he landed on the he let out a sigh and was back into dream land.

I quickly changed and joined him on the bed, pulling him close to my chest and holding him tight to me, not long after a deep and peaceful sleep consumed me.
