Chapter 21

Jaden

I don't know if I over slept or not, but when I woke up this morning the house was soundless. No a soul was home. I wandered throughout the house looking for some sign of life. As it seems everyone already left.

I couldn't stop the smile forming on my lips as I remembered how I begged and nagged Simon to sleep with me. It was funny as to how he refused and refused until I give him my puppy dog eyes and pouty lips and he caved. Oh man you should have seen how he came into my room after staying five minutes without a good night kiss.

Evil, yes I know. But who can blame me? No one absolutely no one can.

I made my way into the kitchen, I had no clue what to eat since I'm too lazy to cook or even toast bread. I took out a bowl and the Lucky Charms; I made my way over to the fridge, before I can open it there was a note attached between a fridge magnet and the fridge.

"Kiddo,

We are at your grandpa's home. You know how he likes big parties and you know work at his place is never ending. Eat our breakfast, if you chose to make any and find yourself over to give us the extra hand needed.

Ps. No Lucky Charms, and Blair is also asleep, bring him with you. If he is not in his room, try my office. "

I looked at the note, and give it a once over, wait did he say no Lucky Charms; I mean he can't deprive me of my Lucky Charm.

I took out the milk and was about to pour it when I remember that Blair is home, which is good.

I moved away from the island and went in search of my cousin. Lately he has been moving different around everyone and has been sleeping in Uncle John's office. Well I can't blame him; well let's just say I used to do the same when I was younger.

I didn't bother to crawl up the stairs, so I made an automatic detour to Uncle John's office. As suspected Blair was curled up in a ball on his father's chair. I walked over to him and gently shook him.

What caught me off guard were the scars or blue-black marks on his upper arms. I took a better look at the marks and to my breath was caught in my throat, they were deep and very visible for me to see, well in this case anyone to see.

I stood up and looked at how his eyebrows will furrow and twitch as he sleeps. My curiosity intensified and I had to have a better look at the rest of his body. Better yet I have to and want to get to the bottom of this. What will tempt someone to physically abuse a teenager?

This was unacceptable and honestly it hurt me deep down to see scars on my little cousin's body.

I shook him a little more, allowing him to stir a bit and let out a weary sigh. Hey Blair, I voiced lightly, and this time his eyes shot open, letting out a weary squeal and fright written all over his face. I never in my life would expect to see him in such state neither would I suspect him to be hiding things from us, especially his father.

Gosh John is going to trip, if he ever learns about this. Blair, I said calmly and he focused his eyes on my figure, I watched as his body relaxed and let out another sigh.

Blair, we have to talk, I said in a no nonsense tone. He looked at me like a confused puppy and I pointed to the scars on his arms.

He shot up, and let out a fake laugh as if it was nothing. What are those Blair? I asked seriously, no emotions showing on my face and he just shrugged.

Blair, seriously, where did you get those and who did that to you? I asked rising my tone causing him to flinch. He stepped back, and my hands shot out and grabbed him firmly, not on his already bruised hands.

Blair I am very serious, where you got those? I asked again. His smart reply only sent me on edge.

It's nothing Jaden, forget about it. Really because for something to look like nothing absolutely looks like something to me, do I look like an ass Blair? Is the word stupid written on my forehead? I asked with my voice getting louder.

I sighed and pinch my nose bridge. Look Blair, all I want to know is for your best and safe interest and if you refuse to tell me I'm calling Uncle John.

I fished out my phone and began to dial Uncle John's number, when it was snatched out of my hands.

Blair, give it back! I screamed. He shook his head, I was about to advance on him when he held his up in surrender and closed his eyes tightly. I stopped and he stood there in that same position waiting for me to attack him.

Blair, start talking, with that he sighed and nodded. I looked at him head to toes and I mean he wasn't skinny and neither overly built. He had muscles and had good height as myself, so I'm still confused.

Follow me, I said and he walked behind me with his head hung low.

As me made our way into the kitchen he kept sighing. When we made it to the kitchen I pointed to the stool and he got the message. He took his seat and waited for me to give him his breakfast.

I took the seat next to him and we both begin to eat in silence. After a few minutes of the deafening silence and tension, I turned to him, he ignored me as I sat there looking at him.

Blair I said softly, he didn't look up, and he stopped eating his cereal and actually glared at the bowl.

He looked as if he was having an internal battle with himself and that's when I realized I shouldn't pry.

I was about to get up when he started to talk.

It started when I joined the foot ball team, he said. I stopped in my tracks and turned to his general direction, I nodded at him, encouraging him to continue.

When I joined the team, they all had a problem with it, meaning that Blake is already taking over Simons post as captain and Jason was not going to be the captain. Jason and his goons ganged up on me the first day of training. I was not frightened at all, but after practice that evening, when I was in the shower they started to bully me, they will wait till Simon and Blake are gone to beat me in the locker room.

Many times I told coach but he ignored me. After that, when Simon won the State finals the beatings got worst, they even threatened me, I don't know what I did to them but all of a sudden they keep coming at me for no reason at all.

Even at practice on the field, they all will tackle me, hitting me harder and pushing me around. He said in a low tone. I can hear the slight break in his voice as he kept talking. My heart ached and he was holding in everything. All his emotions and man it hurt.

When I think back, Jason is almost two times Blair's mass, he is jock with bulging muscles and don't get me started with his height.

Blair got up and went out of my sight; I washed the blows and went to shower. After I showered I went down the stairs only to find Blair waiting on me. I nodded to the door and we both made our way out of the house.

During the drive I know there is more, but I can't put my finger on it.

The drive was silent and my thoughts were all over the place. When we reach grandpa's place Blair shoot out the car and ran into the house.

As I sat there in silence, thinking of Blair, now I can't keep this to myself, I can't. I need to tell someone.

I can tell Uncle John or Leo but they are going to rip this town apart, Joey or Tim. I fucking don't know how to tell.

A knock, bought me out of my thoughts, I looked to see Simon looking at me with a confused look. He opened the door and leant in. His hands cupped my face and his eyes blue eyes penetrated my brown ones.

What's wrong, he asked gently? Nothing, it just something came up, and I don't know how to deal with it.

Okay, then tell me, he said. He placed a kissed on my lips and pulled away.

Tell me when you are ready. He said and walked away. I watched his retreating figure disappeared from my sight.

I know I'll have to tell him, and I know Simon is going to trip. Sighing I got out of the car and made my way to the back of the house.
