Jaden

I was woken up by a loud horn or alarm sounding throughout the building. In an instant I got a headache and no doubt a few curses were heard coming from some of the guys in the room.

I looked up, to see some scampering around dressing themselves and no doubt Kevin and David are in the mix. A tall buff and well tones man walked in shouting at the men to hustle it up. He stopped in-front of me and glared at me.

You, get up now, I did a double take before getting off the bed and shooting him a nasty glare.

What's your name, fairy? He shouted in my face causing me to roll my eyes at him. He clenched his jaws and started to shout again.

Answer me, what is your name? I opened my mouth to reply, but he cut me off instantly. One thing I don't like here fairy is disrespect and as the team leader here, he go to grab my shit but was stopped by David and Kevin instantly.

Sir, if I was you I won't lay a finger on him. And why is that marines? He question. David pulled me to his side and Kevin explained to him who I am.

Sir, this is commander and operations units' manager SGT Williams nephew Jaden. The man pulled back and measured me from head to toe. I felt slightly uncomfortable under his scrutiny.

Is that right he asked, they both nodded and he was about to say more but Uncle William walked into the room.

Yes, that is right SGT Owens. Nic meet my nephew Jaden and Jaden meet SGT Owens. He stretched out his hands for a greeting but I didn't take return a favor. Jaden, uncle said lightly, and I placed my hands into is much larger ones.

Please to meet you Jaden he said, same here was my only reply with a tight smile.

Jaden, Kevin and David organize yourselves to leave the compound. David your transfer was approved earlier to the NYC base also Kevin you will also be transferred to work along and directly under David.

SGT Owens was about to complain, but my uncle cut him off, Owens I'm taking an early retirement and have told the heads of my decision. You cannot request those two marines back here and I have made it very clear and specific to the heads if they do its going to be a war.

With that I hugged my uncle tightly and tilted my head up to see him watching down at me with a smile. Family first Jaden, family first, I smiled brightly at him and he nodded.

Uncle William, what made you make this decision? I asked, well for one Jade, my son currently tried to kill himself, secondly family is always first and thirdly I'm going to be his support when he needs it, I know for sure David will be by his side all the time.

I nodded and he pushed me in the direction of David and Kevin. I walked over to David to see him with fright plastered on his face, I know he is hurting and maybe worried shit less about James but I know he is holding back the tears and all his emotions.

Hey, I said pulling him out if his thoughts, not now Jaden he ground out. I raised my hands in surrender and backed off a bit.

Sorry man, I said and offer his a polite smile, sighing I turned to Kevin to see him already packed and ready to leave. I walked towards him and he kept a lustful gaze on me. I narrowed my eyes at him and go to make a U turn to walk away.

Jaden wait, he said. I turned to him with raised eyebrows at him. His face changed from lustful to sad instantly.

If this is you trying to get my attention, then you need to remember that I'm engaged, so please stop with the flirting. I said calmly. He nodded.

I know, and I know it was indeed a very bad first impression. Oh, yeah it was Kevin. The thing is I though you would remember who I am, he said and I pulled back and watched him cautiously.

You name don't ring a bell, nor your features or physical appearance, I said. He nodded. Okay, here is what, tell me about yourself Kevin who knows this can be the beginning of a new friendship.

Yeah, that sounds good, how knows I can take you away from that fiancée of yours. Ha nice try Kevin.

Just kidding Jaden, but there is someone I have some good explain to do when I get back at New York.

Huh? Oh yeah Jaden you know them personally, I'm not going to say anymore, he said and left me there in suspense.

Boys are you all ready? Uncle William called getting our attention, I nodded and the other two answered. David grabbed his bag and rushed out the room followed by Kevin who winked at me causing Uncle William to tap him behind his head.

No flirting with my nephew Kevin, he growled, I laughed and follow Uncle William out. Soon as we made it out, the helicopter was engaged and ready for lift off.

Well William, until we meet again, SGT Owens came and shook hands with him, they did a bro hug and pat on the back, and to you Jaden, it was a pleasure to finally put a face to the name of one of the people your uncle usually speaks off.

I extended my hands for a shake but he pulled me into a hug and whispered, take care of William foe me, you're lucky to have an uncle as him. We pulled away and he ruffled my hair making me pout.

Kid, he said as I go to walk away, be good and do good, I smiled, or and Jaden I'll see your around. I nodded and walked in the direct of the aircraft. He, William, David and Kevin did exchange of departure greeting military style which had me grinning ear to ear.

I fished out my phone and snapped a picture of this moment, it is priceless and I am glad to witness this.

Jaden, I was called over by SGT Owens, he placed his hands over my shoulder and pointed to a man with a camera, smile Kid he said and I did, before I had time to move, more pictures was taken and my smile didn't falter one bit.

I took one of Owens and myself, from my phone and one on the aircraft wearing a military hat ready to depart.

After all it wasn't so bad in the end, it was short but I enjoyed the last bit of it.
