Hi! My name is Hannah Davis and I am incredibly excited to be here today to share a little bit of my life story with you.
Interviewer: Thank you for coming. Can you please tell us a little about where your hometown and your family?
Hannah: Sure! I grew up in Fair Field, Iowa. My dad is a cop and my mom is a stay-at-home mom. I have two younger siblings: Nahum & Abishai, which drive me crazy, but I love them anyway.
Interviewer: What year are you in high school and what are your graduation plans?
Hannah: I am a super pumped senior... or I was pumped to graduate anyway. Although, the mass flooding postponed my plans to graduate in May. I really love cosmetics and I know I would be good at cosmetology, but my parents aren't crazy about the idea. I know that they can't rule my life, but they have a point. So, I am currently considering journalism. It seems to be one of my hobbies. In fact... if I wrote about my family's greatest adventure I know exactly what the headline would be! I would call it: Escaping the Rainfield!
Interviewer: Speaking of your adventure, can you tell me a little about your trip?
Hannah: Well, I can tell you a little bit about it. It wasn't exactly the smartest thing we ever have done. Traveling by canoes through lightening, thunderstorms, rain, and wind for days on end... may not be the smartest choice. But at the time, it was our only choice.
Interviewer: Your only choice?
Hannah: Most of the town and surrounding states had already evacuated. Well, I guess there were a few stragglers. We ran into a few friends of mine along the way and they ended up joining us. We had every intention of staying in Fair Field, but before we lost electricity my Grandmother called us with pleas of help. She wasn't sure if she would escape the storm. We decided to brave the storm and go on our very own rescue mission!
Interviewer: Who were the friends who joined you?
Hannah: Some of my good friends: Ophelia and Adrian. I guess I didn't know Adrian that well beforehand, but I learned a lot about him during our trip because we were canoeing buddies. Also, our trip started off somewhat interesting... he has some enemies, I guess you could say, who were intent on interfering with our travels.
Interviewer: So was it worth it having them join you?
Hannah: I would say so. Or at least, I would say that there were a lot more benefits than drawbacks. At least that would be my perception, but others might see it differently.
Interviewer: Anything else you would like to share?
Hannah: If your world floods, make sure to pack an umbrella and life jackets. Life jackets are key.
