Good morning America! I have always wanted to say that, although today I honestly have no clue how many people are still alive in America to hear it.
Interviewer: Well, we appreciate your enthusiasm Bethany. Can you please tell us a little about yourself?
Bethany: In short, I am the Mother of three amazing kids, the wife of on amazing husband of twenty-two years, and am a stay-at-home Mom. I love being with kids and this unexpected flooding gave me some extra quality time with them I guess you could say.
Interviewer: So, you must have really enjoyed your travels thus far?
Bethany: Not exactly. I am a worrier to the extreme, and being forced into an element where I had absolutely no control has definitely put me outside of my comfort zone. I would have preferred to have been trapped at home, but we couldn't exactly leave their Grandmother by herself all the way in Nebraska.
Interviewer: What about the other side of the family? Where were they at?
Bethany: They actually live up in the mountains of Tennessee. We knew we wouldn't be able to help both families, but as they were already living in a designated safe location (a mountainous area with low expectations of rain) we figured they would be okay. Whereas the Grandmother in Nebraska was literally in the heart of the storm. Plus, we did hear from the other Grandparents and they had a couple young families who had promised to take care of them.
Interviewer: That is good to hear. So, what was the most stressful part of your travels thus far?
Bethany: Are you really expecting me to narrow it down to one? Well, I am guessing most everyone else has said that it is RazorBlade and our encounter with him earlier... That was definitely stressful, but I think the hardest part for me has honestly been Hannah. I can see her wanting to take charge and falling in love... both of those things make it really hard to get through to her when I needed to.
Interviewer: Can you give me an example?
Bethany: Well... She spend a lot of time with Adrian because they share the canoe while traveling. Every time I assign her something, she seems to be distracted by him and insists on doing things her own way. She definitely makes it a lot more difficult, and she is very bull headed when she wants to be.
Interviewer: Well, that is all we have time for today. Do you have any closing statements?
Bethany: Traveling in a covered canoe is one of the hardest things I have experienced, but the family time is worth it so far!
