The Chosen One: Chapter Five- Home Sweet Home

            Richard heard the roar of the crowd as himself and his brothers in arms marched as if they were clones. He felt proud, and he knew every one of his fellow Marines and their families were also proud. When they were finally free to go to their families he immediately went to Michelle and their baby Sarah.

            “Oh my God baby, I’m so glad to see you!” Richard said very excitingly.

            “I love you so much! Our baby loves you so much!” said Michelle with a huge smile.

            Richard held his daughter and looked in her eyes, he saw something very calming and very hopeful.

            “Richard, let’s go home babe…” said Michelle, “actually, let’s go get you some real food first. Where do you wanna go?”

            “Hmmmm, hard decision, how bout we go to Sizzlers? I haven’t ate there in years.”

            Richard, Michelle, and their child headed to Sizzlers and talked about how happy they were to be parents. When they pulled in to the parking lot they got out and went to the hostess in the front, seeing that Richard had his Marine uniform on, they got free food seeing as the owner of the Sizzler’s brother had gotten back the same day and had been in the same company.

            “Babe, I’m so glad to be home with you two, you two were all I focused on the whole time I was there, it was tough getting through and not breaking down in the firefights, but I knew I had to get home to you two,” Richard said as he leaned over the table to kiss her.

            “Hello sir, here are your plates for the buffet and your cups for your drinks, if you need anything just call me over, and also thank you for your service I highly appreciate it,” said the waitress.

            “Anytime ma’am, that’s why I joined, thank you and we will call you over if we need anything…” Richard said as the waitress left, “be right back babe, I have to take a piss, I had to be on that plane at least fifteen hours and slept most of the flight.”

            Richard went to the bathroom and did his business and washed his hands, just as he was washing his face he looked in the mirror, and for a split second, it seemed that a face of a dead person was in the mirror but then disappeared. He didn’t flinch since he had been in war three times, but it did startle him a bit. He decided to pay no attention to it and went back to his table.

            “Alright babe, let’s get our food, you can feed Sarah when we get home…” Richard said with a hesitant look, “you breast feed her right babe?”

            “Of course I do…” said Michelle with a chuckle as she blushed a little, “now you gotta share these,” she said with a wink as Richard smiled.

            “Haha babe, already with the teasing…” said Richard while also chuckling, psh, maybe I don’t even want them.”

            They paused for a moment, and then started laughing.

            “For now babe, I’m just glad I’m here with you, I’m glad nothing happened to you, finally you could put that bachelor degree to some use,” said Michelle with a smile.

            “I’m thinking the same thing baby, being a veteran of three tours, and having a degree from USC, I think I’ll find a job in no time.”

            “Hey my friend said her husband has a position open at one of his gun stores in the area, she said she would tell him about you, he was a Marine in your company during the Gulf War, I’m sure he would give you the job, the position is manager and she said it pays around seventy thousand a year, that would be great money Richard, and guess what?!” Michelle said with an excited look.

            “Damn baby, that would be awesome, dealing with one of my favorite things and getting paid good money, and what is it?” asked Richard.

            “I got the job at our old high school, isn’t that great?!”

            “Of course babe! I’m glad your happy, now we can get on with our lives with Sarah, wow, life is great right now babe, Frank has to be our guardian angel or something, this is great.”

            “Richard, let’s get out of here, we have so much to do today,” said Michelle smiling.

            With that they left to go to the movies, family members houses, dinner, and finally home.
