The Chosen One: Chapter Seven- Back with the Family

“You excited honey?” asked Michelle after the two hour drive to his brother’s house.

“Of course I am, tired too though” Richard said thinking about all of his tasks. “Raise an army of billions, protect his family, learn from Archangel Michael how to fight a war with Satan, and work a job.”

“Well let’s go, I think they’re all inside” Michelle said looking around.

“I’m surprised Lucas isn’t grilling today, that’s his favorite thing to do” Richard said while stepping out of the black Ford Expedition they bought a few years back. They both walked up the patio stairs to the front door of the two story suburban house in Phoenix and knocked on the door. Lucas opened up the door and everyone let out a cheer for Richard.

“Bro, welcome home, how are you?” asked Lucas, his brother that was ten years older than him.

“I’m doing great, I’m glad to see all of you, how are you bro?”

“I’m doing great, mom and pops are in the kitchen, let’s go see them.”

On the way to the kitchen Richard gave hugs and handshakes to many of his family and family friends got plenty of congratulations for having Sarah.

“Hey Rich!” said both of his parents at the same time and hugged him.

“How are you guys?” asked Richard.

“We’re good, we just bought a new house in Scottsdale and we’re gonna rent the other house that we’re moving out of in Chandler” his mother Sandra said with pride.

“I see the Rental Business is going well dad, how many houses are you guys renting out right now?”

“We’re renting out nine houses and six condos, two of which are beachside, we’re making about $70,000 in profit right now, and that’s our little side project, we own another bank now, so that’s three banks now, we’re living the successful life son” his father  Howard said.

“Awesome dad, I’m gonna start working as a manager at a gun store near our house, and Michelle just got a job at our old high school… By the way, where are Lucas’s kids?”

“Well both of the boys are upstairs in the game room playing some video games with their friends, the girls are with their friends in the other living room with some of their friends watching a movie” Sandra said.

“Thanks mom, this house is huge, be back in a few minutes gonna go say hi to them, I don’t even think they know I’m here yet.” Richard walked into the living room and snuck up on Emma and Ariel and scared them, they both screamed and then turned around.

“Uncle Richy!” they both said and then hugged him.

“What’s up guys? What movie are you watching?”

“Alice in Wonderland, it came out like right after you left, wanna watch it with us?”

“Maybe I’ll watch it with you guys a lil later, I gotta say hi to your brothers and then talk to your grandmother about something.”

“Okay Uncle Richie see you later” said Ariel, the second oldest child, she was 16 and would turn 22 on September 16, 2016. Emma was the youngest at 12 and would turn 18 on January 1, 2016, she was a New Year’s baby in 1998.

Richard walked up stairs and started thinking about his nephews and nieces also, it was only those four since he and Lucas were the only children of his parents, but both of his nephews might have to fight in the war since they’ll be in their early twenties in 2016. He peeked through the door and saw that they were playing some first person shooter game with three other friends. Camden looked over and noticed him.

“Uncle Rich! Keith look!” they both looked over and Richard entered the room.

            “Hey guys what you playin?”

“Halo Reach, how are you Uncle Rich?” Keith asked after pausing the game and walking over to Richard to give him a hug. Keith was the oldest child, he was 17 and would be turning 23 on July 15, 2016. Camden was 14 and would turn 20 on March 18, 2016.

“I’m doing fine Keith, hey Cam come with your brother and I, I need to talk to you two.”

They walked outside of the room and into the open space next to the stairs.

“Hey guys, have you ever fired guns in real life?” Both of them answered no to the question.

“Alright, how about you guys ask if you and your sisters can come stay with us for a week during your Winter break, I’ll teach you everything I know about guns and I’ll take you to the firing range to shoot all of mine while your sisters go to the mall with your aunt Michelle and maybe even with us to the firing range on one of the days.”

“That would be awesome Uncle Rich” Camden said.

Richard was offering this because of a thought in his head earlier about them, “I have to teach these two to be soldiers, and their sisters need to be able to defend themselves.” Richard then remembered he had to go talk with his mother.

“Alright guys, I’ll mention it to your dad first, and I gotta go talk to your grandmother so I’ll see you guys in a bit.” Richard walked down the stairs and walked up to his mother that was alone in the kitchen.

            “Mom I know what happened.”
