Ryuu pov:
We were gathered up to listen to Inui-san talk about a different way of training.
Inui-san was explaining the differences between all our plays.
"Counter Puncher, who stay at the baseline and waits for opponent's misses with stable strokes. Kaidoh, Fuji, Oishi. Aggressive Baseliner, who also stay at the baseline but fiercely attacks. Kawamura, Momoshiro. Serve & Volley, who has talents in both speed and reflexes centered on net play. Kikumaru. And Tezuka and the Echizens are All-rounders. Who use different techniques in order to maximize their overall strength."
So this is where all his data can go to...
"This time, Counter Puncher and Serve & Volley... Those are Oishi, Fuji, Kaidoh and Kikumaru. They will guard the entire side of their court. Aggressive Baseliner and All-rounder- Kawamura, Momoshiro, Tezuka and the Echizens. They will attack using only a half of theirs. A 5-rally match. Players on defense must return to shaded part only. If you hit outside the shaded part, you lose."
This is an interesting new way of training. I wonder who I'll go up against.
"As for the attacking players... You will lose if you cannot score a point during the 5 rallies."
Ehh this will be amusing.
Ryo-nii walked up and said, "So all in all, us attackers just need to finish is within 5 rallies right?"
"Correct."
Oishi-san then said, "On the other hand. The defenders win if they don't lose a point in 5 rallies right?"
"Yes!"
Why do I have the feeling that there is a downside to this training....
"On top of that. If you lose, please drink Inui's special vegetable juice."
My instincts are never wrong....
As soon as Inui-san announced that the losers drink Inui Juice, the regulars (except for Fuji-san) all looked disgusted. I can't blame them...this juice seems to be very dangerous to drink judging by the last time I saw them drink it.
I then asked Inui-san, "So each of us will be going against one person?"
He asnwered, "Yes. However, since there is an odd number of attackers, you can go up against whichever defender won their game, Echizen"
That's interesting. I smirked after hearing all rules and I could see Kikumaru-san and Momo-san look at me in horror.
I looked back at them, tilting my head a bit with a questioning look. They both looked away after noticing me.
Tezuka-san stated, "Ok! Start practicing now!"
The first match of the day was between Kawamura-san and Kaidoh-san. A match between power and breaking balls.
Inui-san stood with his racquet and a tennis ball. "It'd be unfair to let either side serve, so I will start it off."
"What'd be unfair? Viper kid!"
Oh dear, Burning Kawamura is here.
"Here, here, come on! I'll show you my Burning shot! Don't you get scared now."
He seems to have provoked Kaidoh-san because as the game started, Kaidoh-san became serious.
He hit back with the Snake.
Kawamura-san got ready to hit back while saying, "Ok, viper kid, I'm going to end it!"
Kaidoh-san went to hit back the ball but with the limited space, he could only hit to one side unless he wants it to go out.
