A Perfect Relationship

I unconsciously stare at Ara who was gently applying alcohol at the wound in my ankle. Kanina pa siya alalang alala at thirty minutes na yata ang nakalipas pero sermon pa rin siya ng sermon. She didn't know kasi that I accepted a photoshoot that involved wearing heels sa lahat ng shots, and it made her furious, because she knows my feet isn't fond of wearing heels, nagkakasugat at sumasakit kasi ng sobra pag nagsusuot ako nun. Ang babaw pero this is always the reason 'pag nagagalit siya sakin.

"Baby naman, next time, 'wag ka na mag-accept ng shoot na kailangan magsuot ng heels, please? You're a well-known model, I'm sure sila na ang mag-a'adjust para sayo. Si Mika Reyes ba naman yung nag-a'advertise ng product nila, syempre sila yung may kailangan sa fame at impact mo kaya sila dapat ang mag-a'adjust."

"First of all, anong sinabi ko tungkol sa 'baby' na tawag mo?" Tanong ko ng nakapamewang. I didn't like the idea of endearment, I always knew it lessened the meaning of loving that specific person since you don't call her by her name. "And second, last naman na 'to eh. I just accepted the offer 'cause it was a good deal. 'Wag ka na po magalit."

"Tsk, kahit na. Tignan mo 'tong paa mo, namumula at sugat-sugat na." She looked at my feet with a sad expression.

I clutched her hands. "Okay lang po ako. Don't worry about me na, okay? Thank you and I love you po."

She rolled her eyes. "Wag ka nga ganyan, di ko naman mareresist yung ganyan mo."

"Yung alin?" I asked with a smirk.

"Yung... ganyan."

"Alin nga?"

"Yung ano mo... yung... basta yun."

"Yung...?"

"Tsk kasi! 'Pag nagpapa-cute ka, wala, talo na 'ko."

I laughed and wrapped my arms around her.

Ara and I were happy together, and that's it. We're a couple but we didn't let the public know. Sabi nga niya, I'm a well-known model dito sa Pilipinas and my private life matters to pretty much everyone. Pero ayaw ko. Ayaw kong ipaalam sa public that I'm dating a girl, not because I didn't want to be judged, but because Ara's safety and private life may be put to risk. The thing is, I'm a model, Ara's an ordinary girl, and the public's reaction is too unpredictable. So we dated secretly, ang tanging nakaalam lang is our closest friends and relatives, and I liked to keep it that way.
