"Mommy!" The little girl woke up calling her mom. She was breathing heavily. She could feel the the sweat running down from her forehead, to her chin and and onto her blanket. She looked around in her room to find nothing unusual. She took a deep breath and smiled. It was just a dream! She thought. She turned to the side table and picked up her locket. Her mommy gave it to her on her fourth birthday. "Don't ever loose this locket. Okay? Promise me that you will always keep it with you." She remembered her mommy asking her.

"I plomishe you mommy." She had said in her baby voice while grinning from ear to ear. She smiled at the memory and wore the locket.

Just as she was about to lay down, she heard a deafening scream. The scream was coming from her....parents' room. She shut her eyes and covered her ears with her little hands. The screaming stopped after a while. She opened her eyes and removed her hands from her ears. She put her feet on the cold wooden floor of her room and quietly left her room. All the lights in the mansion -- yes, she lived in a freaking mansion -- were off. There were no sounds except for her breathing. She was trembling with fear. But she was curious to know as to who the scream belonged to. She slowly walked towards her parents' room. The door was ajar. It creaked as she pushed it open. What she saw there made her skip a heartbeat. Her eyes widened with fear and utter shock. The sight was way too much for a 6 year old to bear.

Near the edge of the bed was a man holding a butcher's knife. It's blade was covered with crimson liquid. His bluish-green eyes were filled with insanity looking at something on the bed. He had a big grin on his face which showed his perfect white teeth except for a few red spots. She followed his gaze to find a lifeless body of her mommy lying there covered with blood. Her mommy's blue eyes, which were once filled with immense love and warmth, were now somewhat empty. Empty of love, care, affection and life.

Her vision blurred and the liquid on the edge of her eyes threatened to fall down her cheeks anytime now. She closed her eyes and screamed at the top of her lungs. She screamed and screamed until her throat dried and she couldn't speak anymore. She opened her eyes only to see the man -- no, the murderer -- merely two feet away from her. "Now, now, dear. Who's going to stop me? Your daddy? Nahhhhh. Your mommy? Not a chance. You? Probably! So why not kill you too?" The way he said 'kill you' gave the little girl chills up her spine.

The murderer raised the knife above his head. Her breathing quickened. She shielded her face with her hands and waited for the impact. But it never came. Instead, she felt something warm on her neck. She struggled to open her eyes but she couldn't. It seemed as if she was paralyzed.

Soon, she stopped struggling and gave up. It was then when she felt herself drowning deeper and deeper into the darkness. And then, she passed out.
