• Chapter 16 •

Nuria POV

Suddenly, I reject him.

- I... I'm sorry, I say embarrassed.

He looks at me blankly.

- I am sorry. I can't Karim.

- Why ? he asked, leaning toward me. We had fun this afternoon. You don't want to continue?

A smirk appears on his face, and he tries to kiss me again. But I once again pushes him away. Looks like it annoys him. He gives me a death glare.

- You should know what you want. You spend the day flirting with me, and then all of a sudden, you reject me.

I don't dare to look.

- I... I'm sorry. I like you a lot, but...
- But you think it's fun to play with me, he cut me.
- No. Karim...

He gets up and leaves the room angry. He slams the door, and I stay alone in my room. I lie on the bed and close my eyes. While Karim kissed me, I only thought to Mesut. What's wrong with me? Karim is a cute, nice, funny guy... I sigh.

- But he is not Mesut, I tell to myself.

I stay lying on my bed, thinking about Mesut, and about what happened with Karim, until mealtime.

Mesut POV

After dinner, I go with the other players on the beach. I play cards with Sergio, Xabi and Alvaro. A few yards away, Karim is flirting with a girl. This guy disgusts me. This afternoon, I saw him reaching the hotel with his arm around Nuria's shoulders. And a few hours later, he had already forgotten her.

- Mesut? It's your turn.

Sergio get me out of my thoughts. I play as he throws a glance at Karim.

- Don't mind him, Mesut.

I try to follow his advice and concentrate on our game when I see Nuria coming. She wears a dark blue shirt, jeans and she hand her flip-flops to walk in the sand. Few strands of her hair, tied into a bun, fall on her shoulders. A smile appears on her face when she sees me, but it disappears as soon as she notices Karim is with a girl.

-Hey Nuria, you come with us? Xabi calls her.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see Karim focus his attention on Nuria. He gives her a death glare and get little closer to the girl. But Nuria doesn't seem to pay attention and comes to us.

- Yes, of course, she replies.
- Come here, Sergio told her freeing up space between him and me to let her sit.

Nuria POV

Arriving on the beach, Mesut , Sergio, Xabi and Alvaro are the first people I see. And as usual , I can't help smiling when I see Mesut. But then I realize Karim is here too, with a blonde, pale girl, wearing a miniskirt and a shirt with a plunging neckline, highlighting her prominent chest. They look very close. So close that the girl caress Karim's thigh, not far from his crotch. Looks like it didn't take long to forget what happened this afternoon. How did he dare to accuse me of playing with him while he obviously didn't care about me! Then, Xabi invite me to join them. I gladly accept, and sit between Sergio and Mesut. But I can't concentrate on their game. I can't stop looking in the direction of Karim. Until I see him kissing the girl and going to the hotel with her.
