Raven
I love how the everything looks in autumn, when the trees shed their leaves as the leaves dance in the air, the wind blowing the to twirl around elegantly before they fall to the ground slowly, covering the ground in a think blanket of their rainbow of oranges and browns and yellows. I relish in the crunch my boots make when the trend on the leave-covered floor of the forest, unsheathing my sword from the tattered, leather make-shift belt I made to carry it - it wasn't very sturdy but it would do for now. I twirl the metallic sword absentmindedly as I trudge along the path before stopping suddenly when I notice a girl, an inky coloured mane of hair waterfalling down her back with caramel coloured eyes which were studying a battered map. From the portion of skin that isn't curtained by her black hair, she is tanned, not unlike some Demon girls. Taking in a deep breathe, I risk my chances by striding towards her before setting myself down besides her.
"Hey."
She jumped in surprise, a sword, which I had failed to notice, gripped tightly in her hand that was pressed again my throat
"Are you a Demon or one of...them?" She asks before gesturing to some people on her left, which I had also failed to identify, who I presumed to be Angels – a boy and a girl - a couple? The boy was clutching his right shoulder in pain as the girl scowls at him angrily, her mouth opening and closing with dialogue I couldn't quite make out.
"Whoa there," I lift my own sword threateningly, putting on my facade "I'm one of you - a Demon - but if you don't remove your sword which is dangerously close to my neck. I'm going to have to use this."
The tanned girl nods once, lowering her sword from my neck – acknowledging me as her friend. I lower my own sword, taking out my shield that I had cleverly packed into my bag before I left my previous shelter. The Angel girl's head snaps up as she picks up on our little squabble before she narrows her eyes at us. She looks like a typical Angel, blonde hair and piercing blue eyes that could and would freeze hell over with one glance.
So quickly that I could barely make it out, she sends an arrow flying towards my Demon ally,
"Hey, watch out!" I shout, grabbing my shield and using it to deflect the incoming arrow.
"Pepper," The Angel boy hisses, pulling her back gently by her arm, "Are you trying to kill people before the war has even bloody begun?"
"What was that for?" I yell, confused by her actions.
"You Demons think you're better than everyone else," She spits angrily, her eyes burning with rage. Perhaps because she hadn't taken either of us two Demons as a victim."I wasn't trying to start something!" I lower my shield.
"That's what they all say!" The boy pipes up, walking closer – it becomes apparent to me he is definitely hurt, his shirt is bloody from a wound that is clearly not bandaged properly from what I can see, which isn't much, through his white shirt.
"But your friend over there-" He points at the tanned Demon girl, "Did this." He lifts up the sleeve of his shirt, revealing a large bandaged wound that is dotted with crimson. I gasp audibly, my eyes scanning over the wound.
"Let me help you!" I shout, confusing the Angel boy who squints at me suspiciously,
"Are you sure you're a Demon?" He hollers
"I'm a Halfie!" I cry back, fumbling with the zip of my bag to brandish out some bandages.
"Oh - that would explain why you look-" He cuts himself off, his cheeks turning red before he coughs, regaining his composure, "Why you look like an angel."
"Oh." I blink, momentarily confused before I collect myself. "I'll need a place where I can help you."
"How about you come back to the Angel camp? So long as you don't bring her." He yell, jerking his thumb at the tanned Demon girl.
"Sure - I'll meet up with you later, friend." I smile at the Demon girl before following the boy.
