Today was Saturday and instead of my mother coming over here, I decided just to go to Chresanto's house. When I told him we were siblings  at school on Friday he didn't believe me. So I showed him the locket and the note and he went sporadic. He told me his address and I wrote it down on a piece of paper. Now here I am getting ready to go finally meet my mother. Don't get me wrong, I still have some words for her and maybe even a few pushes. I was raised without a mother and a father so of course when I got there I was going to raise some type of hell. As I walked down the concrete pavement to my mother's house my hands shook and goose bumps appeared on my arm. It wasn't even cold outside today. It was seventy seven. After I get back from my mothers I was going to the hospital to check on Zonnique. I couldn't go see her before because her mother was there. I crossed the street like the paper said and looked for the address. When I finally found the house I walked up the three steps and knocked on the door. I heard the door unlock and the door slowly propped open. A woman appeared from behind it. That woman was my mother. I chewed on my bottom lip to stop me from crying.

"Bahjie!" Shamra held her arms out for a hug. I shook my head and swerved her arms.

"All these fucking years and you lived right around the corner from me. You're so sick. I asked my grandmother everyday when were you coming to get me. One day my grandmother had enough of me asking and called the number you gave her. You know what happened in that call?" She tried to cut me off.

"Bahja I-"

"It wasn't a real fucking number. It was fake. I cried for you mama. Everyday I played my piano and every night I cuddled with my pink stuffed bear that you and my father left me. Now I get what my grandma was trying to tell me. You're a horrible mother. How dare you leave me parent-less for another baby? Me and Chresanto could have been raised together! It wouldn't be that difficult. And you and I could've got jobs to get daddy out of jail. Or is he even In jail? Is he living around the corner from me too? Man you're one real fucked up person. I cried every damn day of my life. Nobody to talk to but my grandmother and she constantly told me that you weren't coming back. You didn't even tell your mother that you weren't even leaving! You was just moving around the block. My grandmother had to struggle. You ain't even leave her no money. You just dropped me off like some unwanted pest and went to take care of another child. You see mama? You see how cold I could be? I'm just like you aren't I? Just a spitting image. I'm a mother's child my grandmother always told me." I circled my mother. I told y'all I was raising hell. My mother shook violently as tears erupted from her eyes. By this time Chresanto was downstairs and just watching what was going down by the staircase.

"So tell me mother. Did you ever love me? Cause this bullshit letter and two dollar necklace isn't working right now." I threw the small box on the table beside us.

"I love you Bahja. I always did." She bit on her finger. There were still tears streaming down her face.

"Lies!" I knocked everything off her table.

"I had to give you up Bahja!" Shamra wailed. I had to control my anger or else Chresanto would have to restrain me like the other two times. And he looked ready to restrain me.

"You never loved me. You watched as I got on the bus everyday and ain't stop me or do anything. You just sat and watched. That's all I have to say for now. I have to go see my best friend at the hospital. Goodbye." I tied my coat back up and tied my shoes back up. I chunked up the deuces as I exited. While I made my way outside I could hear my mother crying her heart out. When I turned around Chresanto shook his head and went back up stairs. My grandmother was in her car waiting on me. She had came to pick me up just in time. I'm happy she didn't get the address wrong that I gave her. She's not really good with numbers. I opened the car door and slid myself in. I buckled up and closed the door.

When we got to the hospital I kind of freaked out because I'm really scared of hospitals. Even the coffee bar scares me! I rushed into the elevators and pressed the floor Zonnique was on. My grandmother wanted to stay in the car so she wouldn't have to trudge along with me and then trudge right back in the car. Zonnique's room door was closed so I guess she was changing. I knocked on the door and the nurse opened it up.

"Um Hi I'm here to see Zonnique Pullins." I swallowed the lump in my throat.

"She just got finished changing." The nurse opened the door wide and let me inside. Zonnique was sitting back in the bed and watching Jimmy Neutron. She had major bags under her eyes, her face was pale, and she was hooked up to all types of machines.

"Zonnique." I slowly made my way over to her. She looked at me and cracked a small smile.

"How you doing Star?" I sat in a chair that was next to her hospital bed.

"I'm paralyzed from the waist down...but it'll only be for a month. After a month I'll have to continue my medicine and then well I'll be somewhat healthy again." She mumbled on that last part. I nodded and grabbed her hand.

"Best friends forever." I cheesed.
