(Still no ones POV)

The next thing Lauren knew, Camila had started sobbing into her lap. Lauren looked at her small friend worried and confused, running a gentle hand through her hair.

Camila's mom: I know this is a lot to take in. I know you love her, I'm sorry sweetheart. Do you want to see if Lauren can bring you to the hospital?

Camila: Y...yea

Camila looked up at Lauren, still crying, "C..can you drive me to the h..hospital? T..the one by the c..coast?" The sobbing girl cried. Lauren was even more worried now, but she nodded.

"The one that's a few hours away?" Camila nodded before sitting up and pulling herself into Lauren's lap and putting the phone back to her ear.

Camila: S..she said y..yes.

Camila's mom: I'll see you when you get here baby girl. I love you bunches. Be safe.

Camila: Bye m..mama. I l..love you t..too..

Lauren POV

Camila buried her face in my shirt, sobbing. I held her close and carried her upstairs. I sat her on my bed before changing into my black, love only hoodie and slipping on some loose sweat pants and Jordans before going to help Camila, who had been crying into Nala.

I picked her out my hoodie from softball when I was in middle school with my last name and the number 27 on the back, some adidas pants, and black, Nike tennis shoes. "Camila.." I lifted her chin up. "You need to put this on okay?" She nodded before changing and cuddling back into Nala.

I grabbed a book bag with nothing in it out of my closet and got our phones, Chargers, headphones, and a blanket before walking with Camila downstairs and grabbing a couple of bottled waters, throwing them in the bag.

I gently took Camila's hand in mine, caressing it with my thumb. "Are you ready to go?" She nodded into Nala and I grabbed my keys, locked the door, and headed out to my car. I opened the door for her before shutting it behind her and getting in on my side.

I knew where the hospital was because I passed it every time I drove to my favorite place on one of the farther away beaches, so without hesitation, I started the drive to the hospital, still having no clue why I was going. "Camila?" I asked her as she laid her head in my lap. "Hm?" "Can you tell me why we are going to the hospital please?" She let out a shaky breath before nodding.

"My moms f..friend. She's like a..an aunt to me and S..she has cancer a..and t..they can't o..operate." She barely managed out before she started to cry again. "Shhhh, I'm so sorry Camz. No matter what happens Camila, I want you to promise to try and be strong through this because I know you're very strong, even if you don't know it. If you can't do it for yourself, do it for her. Okay?" I said softly as I traced my fingers up and down her side while driving with the other hand.

Poor Camila cried for almost the whole drive there before she fell asleep with about 30 minutes left to he hospital.

*time skip*

I parked the car and took out my keys, tossing them into the book bag I'd brought along. Carefully, I got out from under Camila's head, not wanting to wake her just yet since she doesn't sleep well in the first place.

I went to the other side and got the book bag, putting both straps on, before scooping Camila up in my arms and making sure the doors were shut. Out of instinct, Camila brought Nala closer to her and held onto my hoodie with one hand.

I made my way into the hospital and went to the front desk to sign Camila and I in, finding it a tad difficult since I was holding her with both of my arms, so I repositioned her onto my hip, letting her rest her head on my shoulder. I signed us in before asking where Camila's mom was, since I didn't know the name of who Camila was looking for.

"What room did Sinu Cabello go in? That's her mom and I don't know the name of who she's here to see." The lady looked through the sign in sheets before giving me a friendly smile, "Room number 702, it's on the 5th floor and to your right." "Thank you." I told her before heading to the elevator.

I pressed the number 5 and as the elevator started, Camila gripped me tightly, whimpering a little. She cried as it stopped and I'd managed to get her to stop crying by the time that I found the room. I knocked before walking in to see Camila's mother and her little sister, who I was meeting for the first time.

I looked over at the bed and saw a thin, lighter complected woman with a hat on and Camila's sister on her lap asleep. "Hey." I said softly, "I'm Lauren." I shook the lady's hand. "Call me Carrie, darling." I nodded and smiled softly.

"You got her to sleep? She used to fight with me on the matter for hours when she was little." Carried said. I nodded and my smile became more genuine, "Yes ma'am, and I've noticed that she does that. She'll fight herself on sleeping until she simply can't stay up anymore." Carrie nodded as Camila's mom walked up next to me. "Thank you for bringing her Lauren, you're more than welcome to stay, you're like another daughter to me now, since you mean so much to Camila." She said with a small smile.

"It's no problem at all, and of course, I had no intention of leaving." I told her as I sat down with Camila in my lap, letting her rest her head on my chest. "Did she tell you about today?" I asked. Her mom shook her head worriedly.

"It's good news. Simon Cowelll, as in The Simon Cowell, formed a girl group out of Camila, three other girls, who's names are Normani, Ally, and Dinah, along with myself. He wants to sign us to his record deal and we all have a meeting with him tomorrow.. Well, today, at 12pm." I told her with a smile.

"That's amazing, I'm proud of you all and I'm so happy my little Mija is getting to pursue her dream." Her mom said happily. "That kid had always wanted to sing, ever since she was little. Well, she still is." Carrie said laughing a little bit. Not too long after, I woke Camila up.

There was laughter, smiles, and many tears shared amongst everyone, including Sofi when she woke up. Camila was on the bed, sitting criss cross infront of Carrie with Nala in her lap, wiping a few tears as I put an arm around her shoulder, her mom and Sofi standing close by.

"How long?" Camila asked softly. Carrie sighed and shook her head. Camila held one of Carrie's hands in her own. "Tell me, please." She barely managed to say, tears brimming her eyes.

"Camila.. Its aggressive." Camila nodded. "I..I know." She stuttered, looking down. "Hey, kept your head up. Okay? Come give me a hug munchkin." Carrie said to Camila, who sniffled and smiled weakly, cuddling into Carrie, engulfing her in a hug.

"I love you all, okay? You too Lauren, you're a sweet girl." I smiled at her. "Thank you." "Oh it's nothing darling." She told me with a smile. Then everything went downhill from there.

The atmosphere in the room changed in the fraction of a second when Carrie started coughing up large amounts of blood and started seizing. "Aunt Carrie?!" Camila screamed, jumping up and pressing the button on the wall.

Camila's mom cried and picked Sofi up, covering her eyes. Nurses and doctors rushed in, telling us we had to leave. Camila was begging them to stay. "Camila.. Come on." I told her calmly, trying to get her out of the room.

"N..no. I promise H..her to th..the end." She struggled out as she hyperventilated seconds before she passed out in my arms. "Shit!" I mumbled as I caught her. I scooped her up and stuck my head out into the hallway. Camila's mom and Sofi had already left to the waiting room nearby.

"Can I get a doctor!" I yelled. Immediately, a nurse ran up to me, checking Camila's heart beat. She looked puzzled. She checked her chest first, then her back before checking with her fingers by her wrists and neck. "Someone get a crash cart. We have a code blue!"
