Stuck in the Middle

Chapter Eight

Conner POV

Angel has yet to come out of her room for the night, I'm worried about her but there's nothing I can say or do to help her cope with everything going on around us. I understand she is scared, that she thinks she not ready or want to be the person Nyx wants her to be. If it wasn't for Luke hurting her so bad, I think she be alright with it but no she is scared. She scared of becoming her true-self and scared of Luke.

After Edward was done texting me about Angel and having an idea of taking her out again. I really hope it works out he even made Luke think they were dating already, but their not at least not yet. He did it for her sake so she didn't freak out but Luke was still being a dick towards her. I don't know what I ever saw in him as friend. I head to Angel room and knock on her door, "Angel will you please let me and talk to me." I hear small amount of movement before Angel opens her door.

I see she has been crying, I just shake my head and walk into her room. "What is wrong Angel, why are you so upset?" She just looks up at me and sighs, "Connor, I can't go back to school know Luke can still hurt me there. I also feel like I'm weak when you and everyone stands up for me. I also think Nyx made a mistake in choosing me."

I look at her with a small smile, "Angel Nyx didn't make a mistake in choosing you, you were born to be something everyone thought would never happen. You are not weak, believe it or not you will be the most powerful person in this town come your birthday. And as for Luke, He won't lay a finger on you because Nyx will protect you and so will Edward and I. I have to because it my birth right too, Edward will because he cares about you Angel." She just smiles when I tell her Edward cares about her.

"He does? I never thought some new guy would like me. And he barely even knows me it's funny. Thanks Connor you always know what to say when I'm feeling down and that's what I love about you." Angel hugs me and I tell her good night and to text Edward other wise at least make sure to talk to him in the more I told her before walking out of her room and back into mine.

Angel POV

It has been hour since I got home, I skipped supper which was a miss take cause I'm now very hungry. Connor and I talked and it made me feel much better. To think Edward likes me without even knowing that much about me. I can't help but feel happy and safe when I'm around him. On my way to the kitchen I run into my dad, "Angel dear are you alright you missed dinner with us," he asked me. "I'm alright dad I was upset but now I'm better just heading to the kitchen for some food." "There's a plate of food in the microwave dear your mother and I thought you be hungry later so we put it in there for you." "Thanks Dad," I say to him as I watch him walk up the stairs and into his and mom's room.

Once in the kitchen I open the microwave to see what supper was; roast beef with blood sauce and mashed potatoes with glazed carrots my favourite, minus the blood sauce right now but my father instead that I start getting use to the blood if I'm to because half vampire. I guess I was destined to be a hybrid way before I was born, Nyx had this plan for me, I may not be ready but I really hope my mate doesn't turn me down because of who I am.

beep beep beep Went the microwave, I must have been thinking to much because it scared me a bit. I grab my plate and sit at the Island and eating my dinner. I wonder if it's true what Connor said about Edward. That Edward care about me, I really like him I'm just scared that he will hurt me just like Luke did. After I was done eating I put my plate and silver wear into the dishwasher and turned it on since it was full. I head back upstairs to my room.

I grab my jacket and cellphone before opening my window and climbing out on to the tree and up to my little sitting spot in the tree. Connor and my parents don't like me sitting in the tree but this is where I find peace. I find it nature under the moon light, Mom always told me that the moon was very powerful and that witches used it at times to do very powerful spells or just to regenerate energy back into their glass ball, that's why my mom's and sisters glass balls are all on the windowsills of the bedrooms right where the moon hits it.

I grab my phone and noticed that Edward did text me and even called me a few times. Like I did here my phone going off earlier but I was to upset to wanna answer it. I look toward Edwards house and notice a bedroom light on, and I know its his room so I decide to text him.

(A= Angel and E= Edward)

A: Hi Edward, Sorry about today and not answering I was just really upset and need time to myself. I need the time to think about everything, that has happen in the last little while. So I sorry for ignoring you.

I sent it but it took him a little bit of time to respond back.

E: Hey Angel, it's alright I totally understand, How are you now? Do you feel better then you did earlier today, and please don't worry about Luke he is just an asshole trying to get attention from everyone by picking on you. So don't worry about him saying shit to you but if he tries to lay a finger on you tell someone then.

A: LOL that's funny and thanks for the memo. I'm feeling way better now, one because I'm texting you and two I'm sitting in the tree under the moonlight sky which makes me feel way better.

E: Why the hell you sitting in a tree you could get hurt.

A: Like I said I enjoy the moonlight, if your that worried why don't you come join me then or are you chicken shit too.

E: Give me a minute

*Three minutes later*

"Hey why you so high up there?" I just laughed and looked down, " because its awesome being high up and by the way it took you three minutes so your late."

I watch as Edward climb up the tree and shaking his head. " How you even get into the tree anyways there is no way You climbed from bottom all the way to the top here."

"You see that open window where that tree branch reaches to?" "Yeah, and what about it?" "That is how I got into the tree, that window is my bedroom and so it's easy to climb into the tree from there."

I make room so Edward could sit next to me on the chair like part of the tree. I can help but smile a little and feel safe around him. It's just something about him just pulls me to him and I don't know why. "So I was wondering Angel would you go out to the movies with me again?" Edward asks me well looking right at me, I can't help but fall in love with his hazel eyes. "Sure that be nice, is that your way of asking me out is taking me to the movies?" I say trying to bug him.

"Yeah just a little, is there a problem with how I ask?" I smile at him and say, "No not at all." I start to shiver a bit. "Maybe it's time that you go back inside." "No I want to stay outside." After that he grabs softly and pulls me into his side so I don't freeze. I start to drift to sleep because for some reason every thing feels all right.
