Family Ties

Mercsville

It's been a day since the team left Port Hope. We now find them in the woods outside of a town called Mercsville.

Woods outside of town

"How come we've never heard of this town?" Erza asked as she dragged her cart behind the group. "Better question why is it not on any maps?" Gray asked as he looked at the map. Wulf just chuckled while they kept walking. He earned more then a couple of strange stares from Erza and Gray while from Natsu he just earned a glare while Wendy sat on top of the cart confused and wondering how she even got up there without her even noticing. "Ah-ha ha hooo! Sorry it's just the fact that this place has existed for over a hundred years and it's still not a map is just hilarious." With that Wendy started to laugh and even Gray chuckled while Erza just smiled Natsu just kept his same angry face up.

Wulf just stops in his tracks and lifts one fist in the air signifying for them to stop moving. Erza immediately dropped the handle of her cart and had two swords in her hands. "Stay here I heard something. I'll be back in a second." Wulf said as he walked into the woods. A few feet in he sees a little white wolf pup sitting on the ground he walks up to it and starts talking to it. "Hey buddy. What are you doing out here by yourself?" He stoops down in front of it and then it bite his hand. He just laughs and changes his eyes to wolf eyes and then the little wolf pup releases his hand and sits there. "Alright how does it sound to you if you came and lived with me?" He scoops up the pup and starts walking back to the group.

"I don't trust him!" Erza, Gray, and Wendy look at Natsu. "He's hiding something. And I'm going to find out what it is." Natsu said while Gray just shook his head. "Yeah he's hiding something but maybe I was wrong about him. He's lookin' for the mayors daughter." They then hear rustling coming from where Wulf went. "It's me don't 'SLASH'/shoot ice/fire/wind at me." Wulf yells. "What was it?" Erza asked as Wulf came back through the bushes. "It was this little guy. So I'm gonna bring him with us." Wulf said as he set the little pup on the ground then took off his pack and pulled out some food and gave it to the wolf. "Why are you bringing it and why save it? It looks so weak." Natsu said as he sits next to the pup and when he tries to touch it it bites his hand and he pulls his hand back with a yell. "Serves you right Flame brain." Gray says as he laughs. Wendy then walks over to the pup and it licks her hand. "Whats it's name?" Everyone looks at Wulf and he replies. "Max. Alright lets keep going we got a job to finish." Wulf says as he hands Max to Wendy.

Mercsville

The group walks in to the town and to the surprise of the others (except Wulf) it looks like a normal town. People walking around. Smiling kids running around. "Guys welcome to Mercsville!" Wulf said as he lead the way as they walked by a couple stores. "Hey Wulf it's been a while since you been here." One of the store clerks said as they passed. "Yeah it has. Hey did Rose have that baby of hers yet?" Wulf asked as he stopped in front of the store. The clerk shook his head. "Yeah cutest little bugger I've seen in a while." He said scratching the back of his neck. After a short conversation they both say there byes. "Alright. It's pretty late we'll leave first thing in the morning. So guys explore the town. Meet at the hotel around 830-ish. I have to do a couple things." Wulf says as he walks off. "Wait up we don't even know where the hotel is." Erza yelled as they caught up to him. "Well I just want to visit someone then I'll show you where the hotel is." He said as they continued down the road only to end up in front of a flower shop. They enter to be met with a beautiful scent and a woman holding a few month old baby. "Hey Rose. It's great to see you and who is this little cutie?" He said as he pinched the babies cheek. "Hey Wulf. This is Sasha. And who are your friends?" Rose asked as she put Sasha down for a nap. "These are the people that are helping me complete a job." Wulf says as he introduces the team. After there visit Wulf asks them a question. "So out of everyone in this town tell me which ones do you think are 'Mercenaries'." They look around the town and point out the guy who runs the butcher shop, the town store, and the movie store. "Well you got two of them. Rose is actually one. Back before she had her baby she would use poison to take out her targets. Hell I've bought poison from her for some of my missions." Wulf said as they kept walking around town till later that night.

Hotel

"You guys go on in I have to make a quick phone call." Wulf said as they went inside. "Hey Lucy this job is going to take longer then I thought.... Yeah I know I'm sorry.... Yeah yeah see you soon. Bye." Wulf said as he hung up and went inside. He goes up to his room with Max only to be met with a pillow to the face. "I'm sorry Wulf. That was meant for Natsu." Wendy says Wulf sets Max down and then picks up the pillow and throws it at Natsu and yells 'Game on'. A few minutes later there all asleep. Max was asleep on Wulf while Wendy was sharing a bed with Erza. Gray was asleep on the couch. The only one awake was Natsu who was sitting on the windowsill looking out at the moon thinking about Lucy. While in Cedar town Lucy was sitting on the front porch with Jethro at her feet thinking about Natsu.
