They had both finished breakfast awhile ago and now they were both just sitting in the cafe sipping on their coffee.

"So tell me. Why did you go to the bar last night?" Eugene asked.

"That's none of your business."

"Oh come on."

"Fine. If you really want to know. I got rejected. From a job just so you don't think I'm some lonley heartbroken girlfriend. No yesterday I finally got an interview with the fashion company of my dreams. And I got rejected. They said my designs were to old school. I was devastated so... I got drunk."

"Can I see them?"

"What?"

"Can I see your designs?" Eugene asked again.

"Sure. I mean I've basically told you my life story might as well share more personal details." She joked but there's was a hint of seriousness.

She reached down to her bag and pulled out her sketchbook and handed it to Eugene.

He began to sift through the drawings examining every design.

"What company was it?" He asked not looking up from the book.

"Glenmor."

Eugene snapped his head up from the sketchpad and looked at Lily with a concerned look.

"What did you say?"

"Glenmor. Why?"

"Oh nothing. Here." He handed sketchpad back before taking a sip of coffee.

"They're good."

"Thanks." She quickly put the pad away.

"Hey I'm gonna go pay." Eugene said as he got up.

"Okay."

Lily watched as he walked over to the front.

'Why am I still here?' She wondered.

She didn't understand why she stayed. She regretted everything she did last night but she stayed, why?

"I'm back. Miss me?" Eugene asked as he sat back down.

"I can't say I did." She smiled sarcastically. "Hey I need to head home."

"Hey wait, ummm.... Can I? Can I get your number?" Eugene asked.

"Why?"

"I don't know. You intrigued me. And you seem cool."

"Okay?"

"Number is (555) 801-2901."

"Cool thanks. Mine is-"

"Wait."

Lily quickly pulled her phone out of her pocket and flipped it open.

"What is that?" Eugene asked.

"My phone."

"That is not a phone that is a prehistoric fossil." Eugene giggled.

"Do you want to exchange numbers or not!"

"Haha, okay okay."

After they exchanged numbers they both headed home. And Lily was happy for it to.

----

"Hey Casedey, I'm home!" Lily called out.

"Oh hey. Where were you last night?" Her roommate asked.

"Out."

"Where?"

"A bar."

"Oh okay. Wait! You were out all night did something happen?"

"Well..."

"Tell me."

Casedey was Lily's roommate and they've lived together for a good three years. Although they weren't extremely close but because they live together it's almost impossible to escape telling the other everything. And although Casedey is extremely lazy and the best at cleaning and that annoys Liky like nothing else, she trusts her more than anyone.

"Woah. You have his number?"

"Yeah. I don't know why I agreed to swap them."

"Was he cute?" Casedey asked.

"What?"

"Was he cute?"

"Yeah I guess."

"What do you mean you guess?"

"I don't know I didn't really pay attention to it."

"Okay well what was his name?"

"Eugene."

"Oh, nice."

"Yeah. Well, hey I'm tired I'm gonna go to bed." Lily got up from the couch and began to head to her room.

"Did he wear you out!?"

"Shut up!"
