JUST ONE NIGHT

An Internship

"What exactly do you want me to do?" Lily asked.

"Pose." Mrs. Baker answered.

"Well duh, but how?"

"Just do what you think feels right." Mrs. Baker explained.

"That doesn't really help but okay." Lily sighed.

Mrs. Baker began to take photos while Lily began posing but she just felt awkward.

"Stop. Are you okay? You look constipated." Mrs. Baker remarked.

"No not really." Lily answered.

"Ugh, well maybe if you try-"

"Excuse me Mrs. Baker. Let me try something." Daniel then walked over to lily and whispered something in her ear making her blush.

Eugene looked at the two suspiciously, and a lily looked down shyly.

"Yeah that's good. Try that. Just act natural." Mrs. Baker commented and began to take pictures again.

Lily felt a lot better and didn't feel as awkward after what Daniel said.

Throughout the Photoshoot they changed Lily into several different outfits and she drooled over every one.

One outfit, a red lacy top with black pants showed off a tattoo that was perfectly rested on her caller bone.

"I didn't know you had that. I can't believe I didn't notice it the other night." Eugene said.

"Well we were drunk." Lily explained.

"True."

After a few more outfits they had finally finished.

"Well done. You're a natural Lily." Mrs. Baker complemented Lily.

"thank you."

"Well go get changed."

"Yes ma'am." After lily left to get changed Eugene turned to Mrs. Baker.

"So..."

"So what?"

"Does she have a shot. And I know you might not hire her as a designer but she makes a pretty great model of I say so myself."

"Well I don't know ill think about it. And if she is as great of a designer as you say I'll give her a shot." Mrs. Baker announced.

"Really? Oh that's great. And I promise it's only temporary." Eugene hugged her with gratitude and Lily came back out soon after.

"Well Eugene. Are we gonna go? I'm tired." Lily asked.

"Yes. Good bye, Mrs. Baker."

"Good bye Eugene. And I expect to see you here on Saturday." Mrs. Baker said pointing to Lily.

"Wait what?"

"Yes. Come here on Saturday and I'll look over your designs and you can do some modeling as well. I trust Eugene's intuition."

"So I have a job?" Lily asked.

"Let's call it an internship."

"Oh okay. Well thank you for everything. Good bye now."

"Good bye."

Lily and Eugene arrived at a cafe and ordered two coffees with cream.

They sat a table, quietly, drinking their coffee.

Eugene jumped when lily broke the silence.

"Thank you by the way." She said.

"No problem. We made a deal. And Mrs. Bakers a close friend. Glenmor's another story though."

"I wanted to ask. How do you know Mrs. Baker?" Lily asked.

"Oh well. I've known he since I was a kid. She was more of a mother to me than my own, she still is. You see my mother was always working and never had time for me, and Mrs. Baker was a... Let's say a friend of my parents and was asked to babysit me a couple of times. And ever since she's been really important to me. I don't know what I'd do without her."

"Oh okay"

"Well I have a question for you now."

"Shoot." Lily said.

"What did Daniel tell you?" He asked.

"That's none of your business."

"Oh come on." He begged.

"No!"

They stayed silent for a moment until Eugene perked up again.

"Fine, enough about that. You done?" He asked gesturing to her coffee cup.

"Oh, uh yeah." She stuttered.

"Okay, let's get you home." Eugene got up and walked out of the cafe leaving Lily.

"Uh, okay." She trailed off and soon followed Eugene outside.

When they arrived to her apartment Lily thanked Eugene and he left with no word.

Lily opened her door and walked into the living room.

"Casedey I'm home!" Lily called.

"Oh, hey. How did today go?" She asked.

"Great, actually."

"Then why do I sense something off?"

"I don't know. By the end of the day Eugene just seemed to be acting really weird."

"Eugene?" Casedey asked with a puzzled face.

"The guy I slept with!" Lily explained frustrated.

"Oh right. So, you didn't seem to care about him the other day."

"I don't, it's just weird."

"Oh okay. Well I'm tired I'm gonna go take a nap." Casedey announced.

"Okay."

She quickly after disappeared to her room and Lily took a seat on the couch. She let her head fall on the back off the couch and let out of deep sigh.

'What a strange day'
