I've done exactly what I've been told and have kept a perimeter around the building. And I'm board out of my mind.
"Can I please do something else?" I said through the communication links with an annoyed voice. "It's the middle of the night. Not a single person is out right now!"
"No!" Genji's second in command came in reply. "Look we're almost done so- Arg!" He cut off and I heard a crash come from above me. I look up to see someone come crashing through a window and I started running towards them.
Even if I were to catch them before they hit the ground, the force of the fall would hurt them and me. I'll have to catch him in the air...
Swiftly I ran up the side of a building before propelling myself off, just in time to catch the man. We went crashing through a lower story building before I swiftly got back to my feet. "Alright what happened?" I asked him as I returned my attention to him.
"Someone came up behind me as I was talking to you and tossed me out the window!' He said with a panicked expression and tone. "I thought I was dead..."
"It's often the case that people have a hard time dying when I'm around." I said as I forced him to his feet. "Now we have to move." I turned my com back on. "On our way."
"What happened?" Someone else asked.
"Just watch your backs. They know we're here." I said with a sigh. Then I heard gunfire erupt from the floors above us. "Oh that can't be good."
Then we sprinted up the stairs. "Shoots are coming from in here!" The guy said as I continued up the stairs. "What are you doing?"
"You take care of that floor, I can hear more coming from up here!" I said to him even though I knew that was not the case. I heading for the top floor.
When I got there, I went door to door, looking for one office in particular. I was about ready to walk past the room that used to ask as mine when I noticed the name plate next to it. "Well I'll be damned..." It still had my name on it, after all these years.
Leaving my original plan for just a moment. I punched in my old key code to get inside I pushed the door open. Nothing had changed. No one has probably been in here since I left...
Slowly I walked through the room, looking at things that I had forgotten about. Old projects for school, prototype sketches for Tesla, and old photos.
I paused at an envelope on my desk that was addressed to me... From my parents. I picked it up and tucked it into a coat pocket. I'll have to check this later.
"I'm caught! I'm caught!" Came through my come before it cut off with a crunching sound.
"I've been hit!" Came another before the same sound. They're destroying the coms...
I left my old office and made my way down the rest of the hallway to the office that used to be my father's but now belongs to the man we're after.
My hand set on the door before I slammed it open, expecting to find him sitting at his desk with a sick grin. "Call your men off right now!" I shouted before notice that he wasn't there.
Then a voice I have not heard in a long time came over the com. "For those of you still in the building, I would run. You're friends would beg you to do so once they find out what I have in store for them. But if you are stupid enough to try to be the hero, you can just meet us in my office."
I gained a sick grin as I walked over to his desk and took his chair. He won't expect a thing.
I turned the chair around and almost screamed at the sight that waited for me. But he covered my mouth before I could.
