Looking back, I feel my life hasn't been a complete disaster.
Sure at a young age I hacked Omnics for my family to sell but I think I started to make up for it. Tesla Coil saved many people and attempted to undo wrongs.
But of course life finds a way right? Getting blown up wasn't something I ever thought would happen to me. Getting rebuilt even less.
Yet here I am. Sadly I had to leave the man who spent so much time to rebuild me behind. His heart wasn't in the right place.
It's hard to really say if I could have gone on my crusade and completed it... Heck with how things have turned out so far, I would think going on my crusade would have made things worse.
My 'death' actually brought the UN into the spotlight and soon after half of the higher ups were arrested, including all the people who wanted Overwatch gone.
They even went so far as to clear Overwatch's name. They even managed to give my company to the people I wanted it to go too... Thanks in part to Sombra delivering to Overwatch a message from me 'post death'.
"You feeling alright?" Mateo said from the couch as I stared at my computer screen with a blank expression. It's been two years since Sombra helped us fake our deaths and set up new lives. It wasn't hard for her to create two new identities...
Like I wanted, I left Vivian Braddock behind. Well kinda. I'm still Vivian Braddock...
"I'm fine, Mateo." I said with a sigh as I turned from the computer. "We've been married two years and you're still overly protective."
"It's hard not to be." He said as he glanced as the T.V. screen. "Maybe we should move somewhere else..."
"I'm not leaving King's Row again. I said as I shook my head. "Besides Mateo, everything has been going just fine. You're night classes have been going so well and I have to say I'm enjoying my IT job."
"I know... It's just that this place really isn't the best for you." He said as I sat down next to him. He put an arm around my shoulder.
"It's home to me now." I said as I rested my head on his shoulder. "And don't say we can go back to America."
"Still it seems a bit-" He stopped talking when my phone went off and I reached to answer it. "Really Vivian? This is the first night in almost two months we've both been home and you're going to leave?"
"You want to go to school, right?" I said to him as I answered my phone. There was an issue at work I had to deal with... Again. "I'm sure it's nothing but I'll go look at it."
"Just this once?" He said to me as I tried to stand. He kept his arm wrapped around me.
"I'll be back quickly okay?"
"That's what you said last time." He said to me as I stood and started for the door. "And all the other times."
"I mean it!"
"You've said that before too!" He called after me as I left.
If I can help it, I won't be long. I sprinted out of my apartment and walked briskly towards the building where I worked. For once, I got there to find the the problem had already fixed itself.
I started back at a slightly slower pace. I was tired from the run and since I didn't have to stay long, I'll be back without Mateo being mad at me.
My phone rang in my pocket and I answered it.
"I just got an email from work." Mateo said to me with a sigh. "They want to send me to a program in America..."
"That's great!" I said as a smile crossed my face.
