Mateo and Sombra ended up yelling at each other in Spanish out in another room. I eventually crashed for the rest of the night, only to be woken up around seven by Mateo. My head was pounding and the light hurt my eyes.
"God why did I drink that?" I said as I tried to roll over and go back to sleep, covering my face with a pillow. Mateo only ripped it off my face and I opened my eyes to look at him.
"I would offer you coffee but I'm guessing you don't drink that either." He said as I finally got out of the bed.
"Yeah no coffee. Even if I could drink it, I wouldn't taken. I swear it's the most disgusting drink I've ever had. Well what ever I drank last night might be close." I said as I walked over to a wall outlet and put my hand on it. Slowly I started to charge, not to much in a rush. "This might sound like a strange question but do you happen to have a shirt I can wear that's not this one? And a jacket perhaps?"
"Why?" He asked with a confused look as I turned my head to see him over my shoulder.
"Well if I return to Vishkar in this they'll ask questions." I said as I turned back to the outlet. My interface brightened and prompted that I was on full charge. "So do you have anything?" I moved my hand away from the outlet and turned to look at him. I really need to talk to Nate about a new way of keeping me charged...
"If I remember correctly..." He said as he walked over to an old looking dresser. "Ah she did leave some of her stuff." He said before tossing me a shirt and jacket. They were both on the smaller side, even for me.
"Did I midget wear these?" I asked as I looked at the clothes.
"My younger sister did before she and my parents left." He said and I could tell I found a weak spot for him. He knows a few of mine.
"Oh." I said as he started to walk out. I quickly changed once he left before joining him in his living room. "Well I'm suppose to be at Vishkar by eight. It was nice meeting you, Mateo."
"Yeah sure it was." He said as he looked at something else.
"If I hadn't met you I would likely be dead."
"If you hadn't met me you wouldn't have run face first into me." He said as I started to walk towards his front door. "Adios, chica."
"See yeah around, red." I said before opening the door and quickly making my way towards Vishkar. It's not that I was going to be late. The speed was more for my peace of mine, given that Los Muertos could be around any corner.
And luck fully I made it to Vishkar just when I wanted to. Though I have to say the jacket I was wearing drew a few looks, and a question for Satya.
"I didn't take you as the type to wear a jacket like that..." She said and I looked down at it. The sleeves were the right length, or at least close enough, but the torso of the jacket was about three or four inches shorter then it would normally be on someone.
"There's a lot you wouldn't expect me to be the type for." I said and she then moved on to talk about what I was going to do. Basically my job was to stand near her and look like I shouldn't be messed with.
I chuckled at that be quickly stopped at her look.
In the event that something bad were to happen, I was to defend her. Oddly I think I'm going to be the one to make things go wrong.
No that's my job.
You like making things go wrong for me.
Whatever. I'll be around later.
Good to know.
The whole day, and I mean the whole day, was spent at meetings with people. I payed hardly any attention.
